The Oscar fever is back, and how! With Hollywood’s finest dressed to kill, it was a rather tough call to pick the best and worst dressed this year. From Anne Hathway to Amy Adams to Cate Blanchett to Jennifer Lawrence, everybody seems to have upped their fashion quotient!

We are loving the colours, the fabrics, the daring cuts and the sexy accessories. Here’s presenting the ten of the best dressed ladies from one of the most glamorous nights of the year. Take a look!

Charlize Theron: (In Dior):
The statuesque beauty chose a dramatic black Dior gown for the night. Fishtail details on her gown, an elegant statement necklace and her hair neatly pinned, she looked like the diva that she is. Her no-fuss make-up look compliments her dark gown very well. Do you like this look?

Amy Adams: (In Gucci)
She is elegant and she knows it! The petite actress looked chic in a blue Gucci strapless gown that sure flatters her figure. We love the pop of red and blue from her earrings that’s perfectly going with the navy of her gown. The pulled-back gelled hair seems to be the toast of the evening as most beauties were caught doing it on the red carpet. We absolutely love this understated, yet sexy gown. Do you?

Angelina Jolie: (Elie Saab Haute Couture)
Is it any wonder that Hollywood’s high priestess is on this list? The world’s most beautiful woman chose an embellished pale Elie Saab Haute Couture gown. Her hair let loose and only a pair of dazzling diamonds on her, Jolie looked killer on the red carpet. We love the full-sleeves on the gown. It’s a trend not sported by many as it’s not considered ‘sexy’. But, boy! Does she work it or what!

Cate Blanchett: (In Giorgio Armani)
Blanchett did play it safe in her favourite designer Armani’s nude gown with a beaded detail. But she looked breathtaking, no doubts about that. We love the bejewelled beads on the nude gown as they are elevating the dress without overwhelming the petite actress. She matched her earrings and bracelet to her gown and chose to wear her hair in retro waves. Love. It.

Anne Hathaway: (In Gucci)
Trust Hathway to break the stereotype. Every. Single. Time! She looked sophisticated in a black and silver metallic Gucci gown with a deep slit at the back. The bejewelled bust and fishtail details on her gown look classy against her pixie cut. We love the pop of orange on her lips and her tiny earrings are oh-so gorgeous. They are definitely on our lust-list.

Jennifer Lawrence (Dior Couture):
Delicious colour? Check. Simple, yet stylish? Check. Statement no-fuss jewellery? Check. Did she tumble on the red carpet? Check! The coolest babe of Hollywood, JLaw, chose a bright orange Diour Couture peplum gown for her big night. She might have lost out on the award, but she did win big in the sartorial department. Check out the way her necklace works like a choker on the front and like a slinger on her back. Cute!

Emma Watson (In Vera Wang):
The Paris-born, British-bred beauty made her red carpet debut in a smashing metallic Vera Wang gown. The semi-sheer number was hitched up at the waist to give it an hourglass shape. She paired it with chunky finger rings, tiny earrings and bright red lips. What we love the most about this outing is her messy hair, pinned up in a casual-meets-classy pony. You go, girl!

Sandra Bullock: (In Alexander McQueen):
A far cry from her deglamourised role in Gravity, Bullock arrived on the red carpet looking sexy as hell. The midnight blue Alexander McQueen was bunched up in a loose tug at the side, adding to the gown’s princess-y feel. The strapless gown with a fishtail detail sat snugly on the actress. She wore her hair in wavy curls with a pair of diamonds accessorizing her gown. Don’t you think she aced this look?

Lupita Nyong’o: (In Prada)
The African beauty who walked away with the statue this evening, looked stylish in a pale blue Prada gown. When asked about the choice of the cleavage-popping gown, Lupita said the gown reminded her of Nairobi. Aww. We love the headband and the simplicity of her gown. She is definitely a fashionista to look forward to.

Lady Gaga: (In Versace)
Yes, yes. We were shocked to see the eccentric singer on this list too! But, boy! Does she look classy or what. The pink mermaid-cut Versace column gown with a matching drape looks spectacular on Gaga. She paired it with dramatic eyes and tiny studs that offset the paleness of her gown. We love it. You?

Even though the ladies pretty much stuck to their comfort zones and went the tried and tested route, we love the ‘less is more’ style Q. It seemed to be the highlight of the evening, what with everybody opting for less fuss and more glam via their gowns than blingy accessories and make-up. Take a bow, ladies!
