In today’s job economy, companies are increasingly taking the quick route to firing employees, giving them fewer warnings and signals than ever before. You may, out of nowhere, receive a discontinuation notice, as the company decides to downsize as soon as possible.

Though there are employers who would think before letting a valuable employee out, many of them do it without a second thought. The reason for the latter to do so could be the behavioral symptoms of the employee or any other issue concerining the employee. While some employers are using the slightest reason to fire workers, it is in the employee’s best interest to not cause any trouble personally. We suggest few ways that you could use to avoid getting fired. Read on!

1. Follow the rules

Does not matter if anybody else on your team comes late and the boss does not notice. Does not matter if the others do a project on time and their efforts go unrecognized. What you should remember is that you have your own oersonality and your characterictics refine them further. All you should be concerned about is doing your own job within the rule circumference. Yet if you feel that you’re being taken for granted, maybe it’s time you make adjustments in your own routine and look for new opportunities.

2. Focus on assignment

It is absolutely critical for you to reach your goals, to avoid getting fired. Infact to be in the good looks of your boss, take an assignment or two extra, which of course you’d be able to fulfil. Make your achievements known when possible without self promotion. Your assignment is the only reason you’re working here. So make sure, there is no looking back once you commit to an assignment, unless you’re in an unavoidable situation.

3. Result oriented

Try to yield effective results rather than focusing on the procedure. Performing good even after putting in a lot of effort is not what employers look forward to. On the contrary they look out for the minumum-input-maximum-output theory. Now you know how to be on the safer side, ever in your career.

4. How is your behaviour perceived

Incase you had any prior issues related to inappropriate workplace behaviour (actual or perceived) make sure you don’t get in the same situation ever again. People end up getting fired quite often because of their social interactions at the workplace, more than performance related issues. No one wants to fire an employee who gets along well with the whole team and others at workplace.

5. Be flexible

Being cooperative is the best thing you can give to your organization apart from your responsibilties fulfilment. Putting in a little extra time is a great way to display your desire to keep and excel at your job. So why not show a little more dedication and secure your position than being in an unstable situation always.

People generally get fired for not acheiveing their deadlines or becuase their behaviour is harming the work environment. It’s totally upto you to not make an employement gap obvious on your resume.
