She talks about her dream of adopting a pet and her love for animals. She gives insights of turning her love into profession.
Eshita: I always had this soft spot for animals. I just love them. What better way of turning my passion into profession?
So how did pet photography happen? When did you realise that you want to pursue it as your profession?
Eshita: From when I was a kid, I’ve always been an avid pet lover and have wanted it to be an active part of my life. Since Photography is my passion, what better way to combine my two favorite things than pet photography?
Why pet photography?
Eshita: Because they can give the most natural moments. They don’t need any lighting set up. It is difficult to click the candid moments and their emotions as they are so restless.
And you do click at the perfect time. It is seen in the pictures on your website ‘Tailshots’, you have beautifully managed to capture their moods.
Eshita: I kind of get along with the pets. Yes it is challenging to get that perfect click as they are so restless but that is the fun part.
Any specific pet you would want to capture?
Eshita: The breeds that I want to shoot are Afghan hound, Akita, Bull Terrier and other pets like squirrels, snakes, turtles, etc.
What do you think about the scope of pet photography in India?
Eshita: Pet photography has a huge market abroad. There is definitely a huge scope for the same here too.
Why the name‘Tailshots’? Is it only for the pets with tails?
Eshita: (laughs) uhh…just random name man…I clicked even pigeons. There is no restriction as such. Something that clicked (smiles).
Do you have any pets?
Eshita: No I don’t but it is my dream to adopt and take care of a pet.
Well we do hope that you get to adopt a pet soon and click the candid shots of your own pet.
