Bajaj Auto has stopped selling the Discover 125 ST bikes. But the makers have some big plans in mind for the future.
Bajaj Auto has very aptly restructured their Discover line-up of bikes, and the series is undergoing a revamp currently. As per the latest news coming in from the Bajaj Auto, the bike manufacturing giants have stopped selling their popular Discover 125ST bikes in India that manifested the beginning of the new model range last year. The two-wheeler producing giant reasoned that the move to stop selling the Bajaj Discover 125 ST bikes is because of the sluggish sales figures, which was a result of the comparatively high price-tag in the segment and the higher seat height of the motorcycle, by Indian standards.
If we look a little back in time when Bajaj Auto came up with the new Discover 125 ST bikes (which was not so long ago), it seemed the perfect model that could complement with the Pulsar 200NS. Well, Pulsar 200NS was an awesome bike, but Discover 125 ST specs stood out from many of its contemporaries.
Features of the Bajaj Discover 125 ST bike
The features and specifications are what make the Discover 125 ST unique. This bike from Bajaj Auto looks big and pretty at the same time, and has also got state-of-the-art functionalities to show off, as well. One such amazing feature that this bike boasts of is the powerful mono shock and 4 valve engine along with an enormously sporty and agile handling with comfy ergonomics. How awesome is that?
The fuel efficiency has never been a big issue with Discover bikes anyway and the Discover 125 ST is no exception. This motorcycle feels peppy in city roads with a lot of bottom end torque. In addition to that the gear ratios are very short and the bike has absolutely no problem pulling from low speeds in higher gears. The thrust actually feels crisp and light and coupled with the light weight of the bike makes it a bikers pride to ride on city roads. Riding through the city is a breeze.
Specification of the Bajaj Discover 125 ST bike
You got to give it to the makers for putting so much effort in handling of the bike; well, it is really light but at the same time very confident. The front petal disc brake has a power bite for quick stops. This bike comes with the mono shock at the rear, which is a first for this series of bikes, and is pretty useful for potholed roads.
If the Discover 125 ST Specs are anything to go by, you would agree that Bajaj Auto has taken care of all the aspects in order to make this bike stand out from the crowd. Besides bringing the right amount of spottiness and trendy look into the equation, the bike amazingly balances all the important traits necessary for a good biker. This bike is cool, and it is a joy to ride this machine. The major highlighting point for this bike is the Nitrox-damped monoshock suspension at the rear. How often do you get to see that with Indian bikes?
Something big is about to come from Bajaj Auto’s den
Inspite of all these amazing features, the bike is off the shelf. However, the makers have confirmed that they would continue to sell the Discover 125T motorcycle, which is nothing but 125ST, with gas charged twin shock absorbers instead of the mono shock rear suspension. The going out of the 125ST would be compensated by the Discover 125M that comes with a competitive price and also leaves sufficient space for the future 150cc versions of the Discover series. And it will be based on the T/ST platform and will, in due course, replace the old generation Discover 150 that is sold currently.
