Saree draping and culture in bollywood – Compilation of various saree inspirations, for every desi girl wanting to take a break of the most common style of Saree draping.

Sarees and the styles of draping a saree is altogether a fashion exploration in India.

The draping talks about the place culture and immediately gives the local glimpse. Saree has been experimented by various fashion designers and even modified the draping styles to suit the taste of the modern desi girl.

Whatever is the styling they are hugely inspired by the traditional draping styles from various places in India.

What better way of taking a glance at the different ways of sarees than looking at Bollywood! The divas have experimented various styles and every time they draped the desi way, they made headlines.

For example check out this video from the movie #FerrariKiSawaari where Vidya Balan made headlines dancing to ‘Mala Jau De’ song draped in a nauvari style saree.

The red saree compliments her lavni skillsets supremely.

In the film #Devdas the song Dola re Dola shows Aishwarya and Madhuri in the most aristocratic draping style of a saree like the Bangalis.

The draping is quite stylised in the song and also looks culturally exemplified beauty. The two divas without doubt look gorgeous in this song as they dance their heart out.

The Bihu dancers drape the saree in a very unique style. We can see these dancers in the movie #Daman where Raveena Tandon plays the lead. The marriage scene depicts the dancers draped the sarees in the traditional way and dancing to the song Hai Ram Ram

The below song ‘Titli’ from the film #ChennaiExpress shows Deepika Padukone in the traditional South Indian style saree. Goddy ornaments along with the saree perfectly compliment her look.

Last but never underestimated the Koli style of Aamchi Mumbai. Katrina Kaif, is seen donning this saree in the song Chikni Chameli from the movie #Agneepath (Although the odhani is missing). This style of draping gives you the flexibility of feeling like you’re wearing pants. Its easy to carry but not very stylish if you are considering parties and gatherings.
