PeeCee, Alia Bhatt, Farhan Akhtar: Who Will Make The Most Money?

February is like a treasure trove of films, and a real treat for movie buffs. While Imtiaz Ali fans are agog with excitement, there are great expectations from Ali Abbas Zafar as well, who directed Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.

February is like a treasure trove of films, and a real treat for movie buffs. While Imtiaz Ali fans are agog with excitement, there are great expectations from Ali Abbas Zafar as well, who directed Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Since box office numbers matter so much these days and entering the 100 and 200 crore club is considered a matter of achievement, I wonder which one of these films will manage to swish through all the hurdles and make its way to the hearts of the audiences.

Gunday: Releasing on Feb 14, 2014, Gunday seems high on action and drama. It’s highly likely that the presence of PC –who is known for her track record of having back to back hits, will place the film in the list of blockbusters. Her Midas touch, Ranveer’s energy and Arjun’s charisma might make Gunday one of the coolest films of the month.

Shaadi Ke Side Effects: Releasing on Feb 28, Farhan is back after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag with a light-hearted rom-com. Akhtar is going places, his fan base is increasing by the day and his acting skills, you have to agree, separate him from the herd. Akhtar has almost reached a position wherein you can call him a bankable star. So, maybe no 100 crore label, but a great deal of appreciation and a huge number of compliments is what I foresee for the film.

Highway: Releasing on Feb 21, Highway has everything that will attract a movie-goer who’s looking for something hatke. But I have a feeling it will work with only the niche. We all know the kind of films the masses prefer of course. There’s no Salman Khan to attract the avalanche of BO profits, but we surely have the cute Ms Bhatt trying her hand at some sensible cinema.
