While there are celebs who take the simple and no-hassle route to promote their films, there are also actors who go the extra mile to shout from the rooftops about their movies. We have actors who stick to the same ol’ same ol’ rambling about themselves and their flicks in malls, colleges at al. And there are actors who settle for the strangest nook and cranny of the city to build up buzz around their projects. And yes these are the ones who are a li’l eccentric in the head. Just listed down a couple of them, have a look…
Salman and Aamir Khan: Aamir posted a pic of himself and Salman posing as if they are peeing together. The caption read: My favourite pic of Salman & me. Do dost ek jhaad pe susu kartein hain toh dosti badti hai. Obviously Jai Ho has just hit the theatre screens and hence there couldn’t be a better way to create a ‘top of the mind recall’ no? Well I am sure the Khan fans love the way these two are bonding, but for me this pic is visual pollution, ewww!
Vidya Balan and Rani Mukerji: While promoting No One Killed Jessica, the two posed as if they are passionately kissing each other. Were they trying to recreate the controversial Madonna-Britney kiss at the MTV music awards? Was it funny – No! Was it tacky – absolutely yes!
Abhishek Bahchan and Rohit Shetty promote Bol Bachchan: Now only if selling tickets at the theatre would make your movie one of the biggest blockbusters of the year! Too bad, such things happen only in Abhishek Bachchan’s imagination. Shetty and Bachchan should try selling tickets in black next time outside a single screen theatre…that would be quite a sight!
Vidya Balan: There she is trying to create a stampede at a railway station in order to promote her film. She just overdid all that promotions for Kahaani, showing off that baby bump, with a picture of her missing husband in her hand. VB, next time try boarding a train, the smell of the sweaty armpits of your co-passengers might just make you drop the idea of promoting your film at the station again.
Varun Dhawan: What’s Varun’s idea exactly? Does he really think that by posing as a vegetable vendor for a day will earn him sympathy votes? And people will rush to the theatres to watch Main Tera Hero, because seeing the brat toil hard in the sun, just like the aam aadmi, will make us bawl and want us to give a pat on his back. Uffff…what natak!
So much for a movie promotion! Did anyone impress you? Tell us in the comments section below.
