This new song from Bhoothnath Returns, sung by Rituraj is all soulful and intense. The way it is shot, it’s beautiful…there is this quality of pathos in the song you instantly connect with. Amitabh, who steps into the invisible shoes of a ghost in the film, is seen hanging around with the only kid that can see him. The song begins with the kid asking Big B to start thinking about the country for a change and stop being selfish. Right then and there epiphany moment occurs; bold headlines of newspapers replete with words like hate and crime flashes in front of him. That looks like the turning point in the film when Bhoothnath decides to give politics an earnest try.
Big B does everything – from giving motivating political speeches to helping people out, and the interesting part is no one can see him but everyone can hear his powerful baritone and get a sense of his pure intentions.
Big B’s disturbed expressions are a million bucks. There are portions in the film where you can see him getting all teary-eyed because of the state of affairs of the country. And he looks so convincing while doing so. Of course watching him perform has always been delightful, but adding to the amazing visuals is the unearthly music. It’s just amazingly in-sync with the gloomy situation of the film.
Composed by Ram Sampath, the guy who’s known for churning out hit numbers in Delhi Belly, Talaash et al has made sure he gives the number his own golden touch.
Boman Irani shines as the sinister villain. I have a feeling I am going to loathe him after watching the film; he looks that mean and crude. Sahib has totally touched my heart; you let us know if the track has managed to create that ‘ting’ effect in your mind and soul.
