If you ask me to conjure up images of the last two fashion disasters I saw, it definitely has to be Bipasha Basu and Rajeev Khandelwal. The two should, if not fire, at least reprimand their hair-stylists right away for making it look as if a bird nest has replaced the mass of hair on their heads.

Bipasha looked resplendent as ever at the IIFA do in mostly all her appearances, but there was this one look that didn’t quite match up to her style savvy image. The faux curly bob she tried her hand at didn’t quite suit her. I really can’t fathom why the hairdo looks super funny on her, is it her bone structure or the puffed out hair, if you figure what it is, please let me know.

Trailing behind Bips is Rajeev Khandelwal; as his movie Samrat and Co. released last week, it really looks like he’s having a bad hair day throughout the film. What’s with that ‘shock laga’ kinda hairdo? A little longer, and he would have had created the Afro-wig statement.

I love the Bong babe’s Gaurav Gupta ensemble though – the shimmer of the outfit and the bright neon of her nail-paint make a super cool combination. But that blown-up curly hairdo doesn’t work for me. And not everyone can do justice to the bob. Bips falls flat on her face with that hairstyle.

And I wonder Rajeev, who’s usually seen sticking to the ‘plain and slick’ style, felt the need to sport that ghastly curly coiffure in the film. When you are not laughing at the horrendous dialogues in the movie, you are giggling at the hairdo. A talented actor like Mr Khandelwal should try not to be such a laughing stock in the future again. That hairdo almost made me forget the fact that his first film ‘Aamir’ was nothing less than brilliant…

The Saturday Night Fever legend and the House Of Cards actor seem to be smitten by our Bollywood beauties. John Travolta and Kevin Spacey were seen enthralling the crowd at the IIFA Awards this year at Tampa Bay along with our Bollywood folks. While Travolta was conferred with an award for his outstanding contribution to international cinema, Spacey it seems did a workshop in which he discussed theatre and films with writers and directors from the Indian film fraternity.

The two stars welcomed B-town at the IIFA with great fanfare. What’s really cool though is that the two men seemed to be quite mesmerised by our B-town beauties. When asked John about our Bollywood ladies, he said with a hint of playful flirtatiousness, “I like the girl who worked in Ram Leela.” He confessed that Ms Padukone totally blew him away with her charm and performance in the film. While the Grease actor was singing DP’s praises, Kevin out there seemed to be highly impressed with Priyanka Chopra. The actor said that he found the PC’s voice very sexy and he’s also impressed with her diligence, the way she stayed up all night rehearsing for her performance at the award show.

The actors also expressed their interest in visiting India and working with our very own industrywallas. John is contemplating Shekhar Kapur’s Paani and Kevin has expressed his desire to do theatre in the country.

If all this Bollywood brouhaha wasn’t enough, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika also made Kevin do the Lungi dance by making him wear a checkered lungi, and he sweetly obliged…

Well, now we know there’s something about our desi heroines; if they can make our Indian heroes fall for them in a jiffy, they can also work their charm on firangi actors with absolute ease…kudos to them!

The first look of Daawat-e-Ishq looks like a gastronomic delight. While Aditya plays a Lucknawi cook in the film, Parineeti steps into the shoes of a Hyderabadi sales girl. Now everything about the film gives a whiff of food. Right from the title to the poster, to the mention of places like Lucknow and Hyderabad, seems like the movie is going to make us super hungry.

Although what’s surprising is that Parineeti, who is often under the scanner for her weight issues and Adi, who himself confessed on Koffee With Karan that he has a tendency to put on those kilos easily, are seen hogging away to glory in the first look poster. I wonder if the two even bothered to step on the weighing machine during the course of shooting the film.

It seems the film is about two lovers who are diametrically opposite to each other. The movie also stars TV dude Karan Wahi, who will be making his Bollywood debut. Directed by Habib Faizal, the movie will be releasing on September 5.

Now this looks like an interesting year for Parineeti. She will also be seen in Kill Dill opposite Ranveer Singh. I am sure this is a great way for Pari to shut everyone up who has been constantly chattering about her curvaceous bod. Through her super cool line-up of films, she has proved that she’s undoubtedly one of the best actors amongst the current lot.

Subhash Ghai’s Mishti, which released last week, is getting disastrous reviews. While some are saying that the director is still stuck in the ‘90s, there are also people who think his movies have started to lack the same spice they once had.

It’s been ages Ghai has given a hit as a director. His last film was perhaps the Aishwarya Rai starrer Taal. Shaimak’s artistic choreography and Ash’s ethereal beauty were like a lethal combination. Cut to 2014, I guess Ghai is somehow not able to catch the pulse of the present generation. He has delivered duds like Kisna and Yuvvraj in the not so recent past.

Now the news is that Ms Kaif has signed a three film deal with Mukta Arts. In fact a lot of people also suggested Ghai that he cast Kat for the role of Mishti, but Ghai refused because he knew the Dhoom: 3 babe has her plate full with projects. But Ghai says he will work with Kaif someday, very soon,; he has scripts in place so it won’t take much time to set the wheels of his film in motion.

Now I can imagine the quandary Katrina would be in if she has to, like totally has to work with Subhash Ghai. The babe is one of the A-listers of B-town, who tries her best to be a part of some of the best films out there. Why would she put all that at stake and work with Ghai who’s lost his magical touch ages ago?

I think the director should either stop making films or just stick to producing because he needs to realise that we are not living in the ‘Ram-Lakhan’ or ‘Pardes’ era anymore. And I really doubt any of these popular Bollywood babes would give a nod to Ghai if he ever approaches them for a film that is…

This film was created way back in 2010 for UTV. But for unknown reasons it never got released.

Now all of a sudden, it has started doing the rounds of the virtual world and is garnering mixed reviews for the thought process behind it. The film stars Rajkumar Rao and Vijay Maurya.

Life can change in a fraction of seconds and the movie shows just that.

It begins with Rajkumar entering a hair salon. He seems to be in pretty good terms with the barber. They talk just the way two pals would talk, sharing pleasantries and exchanging stories about common friends. The hair-cutting dude asks Raj to show him naughty videos on his phone, but Rao denies, he says he’s getting late for an interview and needs to get rid of his stubble ASAP. All of a sudden the two sense a commotion outside the salon. A couple of Muslim guys were ruthlessly beating up a Hindu man. Meanwhile, these two were witnessing the scene in a state of utter shock. They just gape at the ghastly battle between two men from different religions with sheer helplessness, when suddenly something seems to have stirred within the haircutting dude. He was now planning to use the same razor he was supposed to use for shaving his Muslim friend’s beard, to slash his neck. And he does so without thinking twice. What happens after that makes him realise the stupidity of his action. You have to watch that…

The video maybe a little extreme, but the point it’s trying to prove is not wrong. There are a lot of people out there who maybe best of friends with people from other religions, but the moment there’s an air of communal disharmony, it doesn’t take much time for their friendship to transform into a ‘mud-slinging’ relationship.

Inder Kumar was an actor who was seen doing films in the late ‘90s. He has worked with some big names like Salman Khan and Sushmita Sen. His movie career was short-lived though; the actor suddenly disappeared from the filmi scene. He was mostly in the news either for his violent behaviour or drinking addiction. The actor, who was reportedly dating Esha Kopikkar, was also admitted to the rehab for treatment of substance abuse. Everyone spoke about how that little stardom had messed up with the actor’s head. He lacked self-control and he hardly had any friends in the industry, except one – Salman Khan, who helped him get his career back on track by offering him a substantial role in Sohail Khan’s boxing movie Aryan. But that didn’t do much to help the actor leave a mark.

The actor with the scandalous past is again in the news for raping a 23-year-old model. Apparently he promised the model that he’s going to get her some plum Bollywood roles and exploited her in the process. Now if this is true, I totally sympathise with the girl. But think about it, isn’t it plain common sense, that the guy who couldn’t land himself any good roles, how can he help anybody else?

Anyhow Inder is under police custody now and the victim is in the hospital, being tested by the medics. While Kumar says it was consensual sex, the model says she was assaulted with broken beer bottles and burnt with cigarettes.

Inder also has a wife and kids. This is the second time he got married. His first marriage ended because of his malicious habits. No one knows what the actor has been doing for a living after he got done with acting.

The authenticity of this rape allegation is yet to be confirmed by the authorities, but if it’s true…it makes for a very sad and appalling story. The egregious act can’t be forgiven. And how disappointing it is that ‘the guy with the good physique’ transformed into ‘frustrated man with wicked intentions’; depressing!

The new ad of Nokia X featuring SRK and his KKR team members is downright silly.

It starts with King Khan wandering around in the men’s changing room in a state of quandary, with a set of itsy-bitsy costumes in his hand. After not being able to decide the final costume (even though all look the same), he shares his dilemma with his team members, hoping to get some honest opinions. But they are too busy in trying to capture Khan’s funny antics on their phone. The commercial ends with SRK mouthing an utterly crappy line – ‘leader se cheerleader bana diya’.

Well, the ad speaks volumes about the dwindling standards of advertising. After watching it, you realise that it’s not just creativity that has gone to the dogs but even logic has been ruthlessly strangled to death. Why would the owner of an IPL team choose costumes for his cheerleaders? Apparently SRK doesn’t even have the time to attend the matches played by his own team. Reportedly he has given all his dates to his movie projects and he hardly has any time to boost the morale of his team by being physically present at the stadium.

So yes, of course a lot of you’ll say, it’s just an ad and you are allowed to get a little goofy. But my point is, this is not even goofy, it’s plain boring and blah!

If you ask me, what would had been more entertaining…well, if they were really short of ideas, they could have stuck to making SRK dance to the same ol’ same ol’ ‘korbo lorbo jeetbo re’ song; that’s one great formula for gaining product visibility – be it a phone or a fan – whatever the ‘thing’ is, make King Khan groove a li’l and the viewers are sure to get mesmerised.

For me SRK goes all phusss in this ad…maybe next time he should try shaking his booty like a cheerleader!

His first stint with fame arrived after working in Mujhse Fraandship Karoge – which turned out to be a sleeper hit, after which he created quite a furore with his sensual kiss with Randeep Hooda in Bombay Talkies. The actor has a good head on his shoulders. And he doesn’t just watch films; looks like he also does his share of reading different kind of books. As I enter the room to interview him, settle myself on the seat, rest the book I had been reading on the table; his eyes instantly shift to the bright paperback… “Aaah, biography of Usain Bolt, I’ve read it, it’s interesting,” he says with that typical glint in his eyes which every book lover possesses.

The actor starts off without wasting much time about his next film Hawaa Hawaai, directed by Amol Gupte. “The movie’s got great content and I always opt for good content,” he declares.

Saqib plays a coach in the film, and he explains in his own refreshing, easy-breezy style about how it was working with the director of Stanley Ka Dabba . And man! he can chatter away to glory or what! . Here’s Mr Saleem talking up a storm about movies, his sister Huma Qureshi and a li’l bit of ‘yaha-waha ka gyaan’…Read on!

Tell us something about your character in Hawaa Hawaai…

I play a skating coach in the film. My character is called Lucky Bhargav. As a coach, I had to learn the terminology of the sport. Since kids can ask you anything, I had to learn everything related to skating. Amol sir made me meet some national level coaches, made me communicate with them, so that I get a hang of my character and look convincing on screen. And Lucky is not a stereotypical coach who scolds children…he’s more of a mentor, an elder brother, the kind of guy you can sit and chat about everything under the sun.

Did you feel any pressure of living up to Amol’s expectations?

Amol sir is one of the most chilled out guy I’ve ever met. When he’s talking to me, he communicates in a different way, when he’s talking to the kids; he speaks on a different level. Since we had a small crew, we tried to be as amicable as possible with everyone. About the pressure part, I usually don’t think much, if I thought so much, I wouldn’t have been in the industry today.

What was your skating coaching like, did you topple and fall flat on your face?

Well, inline skating is definitely not easy. I fell a lot of times. It used to take a lot of time to reach from one point to the other. I used to be like ‘shit these kids are laughing at me’. It did take a while, and I trained for almost a month. I am not skating much in the movie though; I just had to learn the sport to understand the body language and all that jazz.

Even SRK played a coach in Chak De; obviously comparisons are going to be drawn, are you worried?

I would be more than happy if people compare me to Shahrukh Khan. He’s a phenomenal actor; everyone aspires to be like him. But I would like to say that I am not inspired by anyone to play the role of a coach, this is completely my own interpretation. It will be great if there are no comparisons, and even if there is, I have absolutely no issues.

Okay maybe not an onscreen coach, but anyone in real life, who you have known while playing sports in school or college, has inspired you in any way?

I was being coached by an Indian cricketer called Chetan Sharma. I always looked up to him. The best part about him was that he always played a sport as a sport, and he never treated it like some sort of a monotonous job. I want to do that with my career too. I want to be so passionate about my job that it doesn’t feel like I’ve worked a single day in my life.

How does it feel to have your sister Huma in the same fraternity?

I am lucky that I have my sister in the same industry. We are very opinionated people. Huma and I decided very early in our career that we are going to be each other’s fiercest critics. While it’s great to have people who appreciate you, it’s also important to have people who keep you grounded and tell you where you are going wrong.

What do you think one needs to have to sustain oneself in the industry?

I think talent, patience and luck are very important. You need to do the right kind of films too. And of course you need to be patient for what you want in life. I have been in the industry for 4 years…I am not in a hurry, I am okay waiting. And please don’t do ‘ganda kaam’. Even after 20 years when I look back, I want to be proud of my work. I am not here to earn money; if I wanted to do that I would have gone back and joined my dad’s business. Eventually you won’t be remembered for the award functions you attended or your appearances in the number of page 3 parties, you’ll be remembered ONLY for your films.

What is this ‘ganda kaam’ you are talking about exactly?

I am a brutally honest person, so I have to tell you this, there aren’t many great scripts written in Bollywood. And if someone is doing those films, they are probably doing it for the wrong reasons, may be for earning big bucks, or maybe because they are paired next to a certain person who’s going to help them give a boost to their career…it can be anything. But I don’t want to do that, I am okay with working with a new girl. Nothing is more important than a good script and a talented director. What’s the point of doing films that work over the weekends and then disappear into thin air; it makes sense to be a part of films that are going to be remembered forever.

What do you want to be, a star or an actor?

I would love to merge the two. And I want to be the best actor in the country. I feel that unless I don’t believe in myself, people won’t believe in me too. Of course I will also do commercial potboilers when necessary, but I also think I need to build myself as an actor first.

And who exactly do you consider your idols?

When I was growing up, I used to look up to two guys Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar – because both are from Delhi. I used to do Judo when I was younger and at that time Akshay was the ultimate khiladi of Bollywood, so I used to be very inspired by him. When I entered college and started dating girls, I started idolizing Shahrukh Khan.

April is almost about to come to an end, and following the monthly ritual, some of the most popular fashion mags made sure their cover girls looked like a million bucks – all prim and proper in their designer bib and tucker.

While skimming through the fashion stock, of course the divas Sonam Kapoor, Kajol and the new and fresh-looking kid on the block Shraddha caught my attention, as they bought their photogenic self to the fore. As they stared at me with those confident expressions from those Photoshop enhanced glossy covers, I wondered, if asked to label one of them as the absolute ‘summer star’, who I would choose.

Kajol: I like Ms Devgn’s easy-breezy style. It goes with the flavour of the season. The nude make-up, the tousled hair and those funky sunglasses complement her summery outfit. Kajol is getting fashionably effortless with every passing day. This cover is just another piece of style evidence that the actor is going to continue surprising us a lot more in the coming years.

Sonam Kapoor: As the caption in the mag takes inspiration from Lady Gaga’s song ‘born this way’, Sonam Kapoor is seen going experimental for the April issue of Grazia. Well, can’t say if the experiment worked. The sporty crop top and the half transparent-half sheer skirt aren’t doing much to make this statement a blockbuster. If I had to describe it in one word, I would say ‘cluttered’…

Shraddha Kapoor: I love the silver-emerald neckpiece Shraddha is wearing on the Vogue cover. Her look seems like a perfect combination of an Arab style and a Punkish statement. The soft curls and the kaftan-like loose style makes the cover look super edgy.

Well, for me Kajol takes the cake. I like it when it’s natural and candid, and looks like posing for such shots comes naturally to the actor. Shraddha trails behind as I give her look an enthusiastic nod. Sonam’s Grazia cover doesn’t appeal to me much…but do let me know if it does to you, and why!

Only Ranveer Singh has the courage to take up a condom ad, and make the commercial look all the more attractive by adding a cool tagline and an interesting signature step to go with it. So while RS croons ‘do the rex’ for popular condom brand Durex, he also moves his hands up in the air enthusiastically that complements the funky caption of his ‘rap’ number.

The video is so vibrant and peppy that you almost feel like getting inside the screen and start shaking a leg with Singh. His energy is infectious and the track is way too catchy. It starts with Ranveer getting done with a great round of sex in the wee hours of the morning, after which it switches straight to the next scene – he’s seen getting out of his vanity van, addressing the paparazzi and his fans and there’s a refreshing glow on his face because of …no points for guessing…the sex of course.

The actor said in a statement that he wants the youth to talk more openly about safe sex. Now senior actors like Salman Khan must definitely take a cue from the straight-forward chap and stop claiming that they are 40-year-old virgins on national television and be such prudes.

The ad is sure to connect with the youth. Young people can be a li’l impulsive and reckless when it comes to sex. Ranveer knows that of course, and he conveys in his own entertaining style that if you enjoy sex and if there’s consent from both the sides, make the most of your time by staying safe and wearing a condom.

Singh loves to rap, Singh loves to dance, Singh loves to get a li’l hyperactive in an endearing way…and what better platform that a youthful condom ad for satiating his desire to do something out-and-out creative. I love the ad…do you?

The ever energetic Piggy chops released her new album ‘I can’t make you love me’.

This is her fourth single after ‘In my city’, ‘exotic’ and ‘erase’. After teaming up with some of the known names in the music industry like Pitbull, Will.i.am and Chainsmokers, Peecee has now taken some serious inspiration from ‘70s singer Bonnie Raitt – an American blues specialist.

The Barfi! babe has picked up Bonnie’s track ‘I can’t make you love me’ and given a different touch to it. The soulful ballad is transformed into a pacey club number, on which some heavy dance music has been used. In fact Priyanka even tweeted that Bonnie is one of the people why she became a singer.

The actor has always got mixed reviews for her singing abilities. While there’s a certain section that appreciates the efforts she has put in to entrench herself in the international music scene, there’s also a bunch which thinks that the babe should have done them a favour and stuck to acting.

Priyanka already has a huge fan following abroad. And all her numbers have been a heady mix of great beats and hummable lyrics. But I personally feel she could have just left Bonnie’s classic track alone or stuck to the original slow version. The heavy tune is somehow taking a lot away from the subtle and romantic track, which Bonnie composed in the ‘90s.

Based on the classic book Tarzan of the Apes, this imaginary character is a brainchild of Edgar Rice Burroughs who created the story of this jungle boy in 1914. Since then there have been umpteen numbers of adaptations of the legendary story.

Tarzan 3D is directed by Reinhard Klooss. What’s interesting is you’ll get to watch the film in 3D. It’s a different kind of charm to get a taste of the vast African jungles and the primitive forest life by viewing it in 3D.

Looks like it’s not just going to be a visual treat for kids, but also for adults who are suckers for animation flicks. Recreating the Tarzan-Jane saga with modern effects definitely lends that extra edge to this classic tale.

The movie couldn’t have opted for a better release date. It will hit the theatre screens on April 25, and expect kids to throng near movie halls as summer vacations have already started. Having said that, the box office collections are expected to touch the ‘above average’ range.

There’s something very delightful about animation flicks. It brings out the little kid in you, takes you back to those days when our shelves used to be stacked with comics. Tarzan and Jane are classic characters, and they can never be erased from the pages of history. Tarzan’s adventures beckon; can’t wait to be a part of it.

Sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, Raat bhar is a beautiful composition. It is one of those typical club numbers- the hero and heroine having one of those fun night outs and guzzling tequila shots one after the other. Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon, like crazy lovers are seen partying on the streets and grooving away to glory. Well, you can’t say it’s an out-and-out unusual track that’s going to blow you away, but it has a feel-good vibe about it. And especially when Arijit sings a number, expect it to transform into a soothing treat for the ears.

I like the Tiger kid’s moves. He’s super agile and his ‘booty-shaking’ techniques can give a serious complex to some of the best dancers in Bollywood like Hrihtik Roshan and Shahid Kapoor. He makes those cartwheels and summersaults look really effortless.

Recently at the trailer launch of Heropanti, Aamir Khan had made sure he extended his support to the film. And while doing so, he said, “I think Tiger is the next superstar of Bollywood.” Well, I guess it’s too early to say if Shroff Jr will make it as big like his dad, and his acting skills are yet to seen and judged, but he definitely scores brownie points in the ‘dancing’ area. He has the body of a gymnast and I don’t think anyone in B-town has that kind of flexibility.

But whatever Tiger’s future is, the makers have tried hard to incorporate some good songs in the film and make it all masaledar. Raat bhar is one of those tracks you can reserve for one of those ‘I want to chill’ days. The actor is doing some good films back to back. Isn’t that some sort of a chamatkar. He has just wrapped up Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider and now we hear he’s gearing up already for the sequel of Kaminey – which has been very funky-ly titled ‘Maha Kaminey’.

Just when people were beginning to think Sasha’s career has gone to the dogs, and all he’s doing is crappy films to sustain in B-town; he couldn’t have chosen a better time for creating a bang.  

The actor’s choice of work has been ghastly of late. Be it a Phata Poster Nikla Hero or an R…Rajkumar, Kapoor has been desperately doing mindless cinema to place himself somewhere on the Bollywood map. In a bid to enter the league of heroes whose films don’t make a rupee less than 100 crore, Sasha somehow lost his way in the process. But looks like good sense is prevailing, he has sensibly given his nod to some interesting films and I am really excited to watch the Kapoor & Tabu starrer Haider. Even his look in the film is quite worth the mention. The stubble, the sexy bald hairdo and his Kashmiri avatar- all of it is just way too intriguing.

It seems Maha Kaminey – just like its sinister title – is going to be one hell of a gory and dark film.

The director is making sure he makes the Kapoor kid play a kind of character he hasn’t played before. In fact Sasha recently expressed his desire to play a khadoos villain in Maha Kaminey. Now is that a sort of a hint that Shahid will be stepping into the shoes of one of those good looking guys with grey shades, in the movie. You know how these industrywallas love to beat around the bush; it gets difficult to gauge the real message hidden behind their riddles.

Whatever it is, it will be fun to watch Kapoor as a handsome gunda. I think he has it in him to do evil things, onscreen of course!

The actor has been taking quite an interest in teaching of late. It seems whenever Khan visits Filmcity, he makes sure he drops by at Subhash Ghai’s film institute Whistling Woods, and meets the director. And in the process of sharing pleasantries, Khan has also given guest lectures a couple of times, interacted with the students, taught them the difference between an actor and a star (smirk). So basically Khan has been doling our precious pearls of wisdom to aspiring actors who want to make it big in the industry…

I am sure Khan is doing a fabulous job of showing these kids the right way, but imagine if he had to take a lecture on ‘how to be the next Salman Khan of Bollywood’…how would he go about conducting such a session, here are 5 pointers I can think of right now…

1) Maybe he would start off with instructing the male students to go and buy a loose bracelet for themselves first. C’mon adjusting your accessory in absolute style rather than honing your acting skills is the first and foremost step to ‘being Salman Khan’.

2) Then he will teach them to put very minimal energy while dancing. Didn’t you know stars don’t work so hard in infusing any kind of enthusiasm while you are grooving, you gotta leave that for the agile back dancers who make up for the hero’s robotic moves.

3) He might also instruct them to take up films in which action scenes look like an aerial show, in which actors fly in the air, just to land a kick on the other person’s face. Films in which you have to indulge in a difficult summersault just to pack a simple and effortless punch in the face of the detractors.

4) The most important pointer to be on the top of the game is to always opt for a female co-star who’s a look alike of your ex-girlfriend. You never know, if you pay a tribute to your ex this way, you might end up earning some good karma points and your film might end up raking in the moolah.

5) Last but not the least, whenever you walk around; make sure you have a grumpy star-like expression on your face, as if the whole world is behind your life, making you feel miserable. In medical terms it is called paranoia, but the euphemism is self-obsession. If you do this, you might become the next greatest star on the face of this earth.

The two actors we hear have suddenly transformed into these hardcore workaholics, who are sticking their nose to the grindstone to finish work.

Call it competition or plain fire in the belly to be on the top of the game, Sidh and Kat are definitely not taking it easy of late. The sexy Mr Malhotra has himself confessed that he feels burnt out after working for back to back films, first Hasee Toh Phasee and then Ek Villain, and that he desperately needs a vacation. He has also spoken about his plans about taking off somewhere for 10 days to a serene far-off destination. Now if someone’s going to keep him company or not; that’s still a helluva big mystery.

While Sidh is tired of burning midnight oil, Katrina Kaif out there is exhausted to the core after shooting for Bang Bang. There are times she shoots for 12 hours straight in a day. It was also reported there were major issues brewing up between Kat and her co-star Hrithik Roshan. It seems there were some intense scenes between the two in the film, after which the duo got a tad too close. But to avoid media chaos and of course her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor’s suspicious questions, she started keeping a distance from Mr Roshan. Now that’s one sensible thing to do, no?

Well, now we definitely know who’s planning to bag the work worm awards in 2014. Sidh and Kat are making sure they don’t waste much time whiling away.

I am waiting to watch both Ek Villain and Bang Bang. And maybe then I’ll decide whose hard work had paid and whose hasn’t…

The director was spotted sporting an unusually cool hairdo at the wrap up party of Bombay Velvet.

In fact it looked more like a ‘guys night out’ with KJo all set to have a gala time with Anurag Kashyap and Ranbir Kapoor. Johar was seen in this sexy crew cut with a slightly messy mop and streaks of salt and pepper hair flashing on the sides.

I wonder what made Johar opt for such a punkish and a funky look. Is he taking his acting career too seriously?

Now that he will be making his proper full-fledged debut in Bollywood with Anurag’s Bombay Velvet, I guess Johar has started to believe that he has it in him as an actor as well. Hence, what can be a better way to stand out in the glam Bollywood crowd by getting a cool hairdo and make an impression? Now that Johar has entered the league of actors, he has to make sure he is up to date with the current trends as well naa?

Well, to be honest the crew cut suits Johar. It’s a breath of fresh air from the boring ‘yawn inducing’ hairstyle he used to sport earlier.

It seems Johar has always taken an extra interest in styling his close friends. He claims that he has an eye for fashion and anything that’s in vogue. If KJo busies himself with styling others, I wonder who gives Johar these crazy ideas, like getting a punkish hairdo.

Well, I don’t have an answer to that. Good friend SRK is too busy to take an interest in Karan. The one crazy and out-and-out mad person who comes to my head right now is Ranveer Singh; that guy is capable of convincing anyone to die their hair red. In 2010, when Arjun Rampal won the National Award for Rock On, I couldn’t believe my ears. For a moment I thought it was some sort of a mistake. But fortunately I don’t feel the same this year. Rajukummar Rao bagging the award for Shahid is great news. He knows his art like the back of his hand, and there’s no one else I’d rather see winning the award…

Here are 5 reasons why I think Rajkummar is already the next ‘big’ thing in Bollywood

1) People have this misconception that the ‘not-so-stud’ types are meant to do only arty-farty films. But Rao has successfully been testing the waters of commercial cinema as well. Be it a Kai Po Che or a Queen, he has been nailing it with is performances for a long time now.

2) Actors usually dread doing character roles, but Yadav has proved that if your acting skills are amazing, you can shine anywhere. Except for Shahid, he’s hardly played the lead in any of his other films but has still received so much appreciation for that extra edge he endows his off screen characters with.

3) He has been choosing wisely. Many actors get desperate and do roles that even they don’t believe in. Rao, who has teamed up with Hansal Mehta again after Shahid, in City Lights, keeps a beautiful balance between doing ‘out and out’ commercial films and those cool offbeat ones… 

4) Rao is one of those people who loves his profession, and that’s so evident when he appears on screen. He made sure he did his research for Shahid by meeting the family members of the lawyer-activist. There’s also a nude scene in the movie which Rao portrayed quite effortlessly. 

5) He will next be seen in Dolly ki doli opposite Sonam Kapoor. Now that sounds like a rom-com and looks like the serious actor has already started experimenting with different genres.

Guess it’s time for the actor to bask in all this award winning brouhaha for a while. It’s totally worth the celebrations…

On one hand there’s Johnny Depp’s sci-fi saga, and on the other there’s the mushy love story starring Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Since it’s a long weekend, movie buffs would obviously want to go out there and throng the theatre screens.

While 2 States is mostly garnering positive reviews, opinions on Transcendence are oscillating between ‘highly average’ to a ‘good watch’. While Hollywood fiends still have some waiting to do for the next big release X-Men: Days Of Future Past, which is going to release sometime in May; Transcendence doesn’t look like a bad deal to satiate their hunger for some creative dope until then. While Johnny Depp is more or less like H-town’s Aamir Khan who does one or two movies in a year, trying to attain perfection in his characters, I think J Depp fans must have a look at what the Pirates of the Caribbean dude has bought to the table this time around.

And after getting off the mad roller coaster sci-fi ride, the perfect antidote to calm your nerves would be the fluffy and frothy 2 States. Suckers for romance are going to dig the film. And if the movie doesn’t appeal to you, Ms Bhatt’s funky style is surely going to blow you away. The IIM chick is seen wearing these long skirts and body-hugging tees in the film, which the stylist Manish Malhotra has made her team with loads of junk jewellery.

While Alia is all cool and street-smart, the female lead of Transcendence Rebeca Hall is quite a thinker. She plays Johnny – the scientist’s wife in the movie. The babe, who played this uptight chick in Vicky Christina Barcelona is diametrically different in this movie based on artificial intelligence.

On one hand you have Arjun’s next door-ish charisma and on the other end of the movie spectrum, waiting for you is Depp’s intense and strong demeanour – you decide who do you plan to feast your eyes upon, this weekend?
