Google Now is a service that is quite often used by frequent flyers as it sends timely notifications about their flights and the trip. This week, Jet Airways have officially announced that it has integrated the Google Now service into its booking system – becoming the first Indian airline to do so.

Mr Narest Goyal-owned Jet Airways made the announced at a press conference earlier this week stating that it has integrated Google Now into into booking system. It means that users booking their flights through www.jetairways.com and the Jet Airways mobile apps will get flight status updates and more information via Google Now on their smartphone.

“With the increased focus on technology to enhance our guests travel experience, the integration of Google Now provides us the opportunity to present guests with customized and relevant information in a seamless and user friendly format. We hope our guests benefit from this efficient application designed to simplify and enhance their travel,” said Gaurang Shetty, Senior Vice President – Commercial, Jet Airways.

Google Now will provide updates on their flight schedule, and the airport terminal for their flights. This information is automatically updated on Google Now. If the flight is delayed or the status changes, the latest information will be reflected in the Google Now card via Google Search.

Google Now will update guests about their upcoming flights, provide flight status, and information about the departure time and terminal. This feature is available via the Google Search app for iOS devices on Apple’s App Store, and is built into Android 4.1+ devices, as part of the Google Search App. You can head over to the Google Play Store or the App Store to download the Jet Airways app.

This is not the first time that Jet Airways and Google India have come together for a collaboration. Back in 2012, the two firms had joined hands along with some of the leading eCommerce partners to introduce the concept of Cyber Monday in the country. It was titled the ‘Great Online Shopping Festival’, which gathered a lot of attention and eyeballs. If the latest development of Google Now integration is anything to go by, we hope to see the two giants getting along together for more such technology oriented apps and features.
