  1. Carrot, Orange Ginger Soup

Ginger is one of the best detoxifiers and oranges contain limonene, a compound that inactivates toxins and removes them out of the body. If you have a fussy belly, if you’re interested in naturally cleansing the bod then you can for this soup.

Ingredients: 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 pinch dried red pepper flakes, 1 yellow onion, diced, 2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger, 4 carrots, peeled and diced, 2 potatoes, peeled and diced, 2 cups low-sodium vegetable broth, 3 cups water, 1 teaspoon ground cardamom, 1 orange (juice and zest), Salt and pepper (to taste), Crystallized ginger (for garnish)

Hot to make: Set a soup pot over medium to medium-high heat for about 30 seconds. Add olive oil, red pepper flakes, onion, and ginger and quickly sauté for 2–4 minutes, or until onion is translucent. Add carrots, potatoes, broth, water, and cardamom. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and cook until carrots and potatoes are soft, 12–15 minutes.

Remove from heat. In batches, purée soup in a blender or food processor until smooth. Add orange juice and zest; add salt and pepper to taste. Purée again, return to stovetop, and heat through. Serve, garnished with crystallized ginger.

Ingredients: 1 cup papaya, coconut yogurt or cultured coconut milk, juice from ½ lime, 1 tbsp raw honey

Ingredients: 1cup boiled chickpeas, 1 medium potato, boiled, peeled & diced, 2 tsp oil, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, generous pinch of hing (asafoetida), 1/4 tsp garam masala, 1/4 tsp roasted cumin powder, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice Chopped onions – about 1/3 cup, Imli chutney, Chopped tomatoes, 2 Thai green chillies (adjust to tolerance), 1 tbsp chopped mint leaves, Chaat Masala, Cumin Powder, Red Chilli Powder.

How to make: In a pan, heat up the oil. Add the cumin seeds and once they sizzle add the hing. Once you smell the aroma, add the chickpeas & potatoes. Also add the garam masala, cumin powder and salt. Toss around for 3-5 minutes till the chickpeas look shiny. Remove from heat & add the lemon juice. Mix well. Transfer to a large enough bowl and add the listed toppings as per taste. Toss well and serve immediately.
