Passenger ship MV St. Thomas Aquinas collided with a cargo ship MV Sulpicio Express 7 off Talisay city in Cebu province last week. The passenger ship, carrying 870 people on board, sank immediately after the collision.

Due to an oil spill from the passenger ship, Cebu province declared a state of calamity Monday.
