Bossing around is necessary (Monica):
If you’re a bunch of friends, one of you has to be ‘boss’ or the smart one who takes care of the consequences of your actions. Much Monica Gellar, who was particular about things, you need one in the group who cleans up after everybody. It helps maintain the balance in a group. Everybody can’t be trivial or over-the-top in a bunch. Sometimes, being anal about stuff is good as at the end, you’ll definitely get what you want!

Nerds are oh-so-cool (Ross):
Although Ross Gellar was picked upon by his friends for being a paleontologist, he was the only one in the group who got three women to marry him…ha! Despite his high divorce rate and nerdy behaviour, he was much loved by all. Even the hottie Racel fell for Ross and eventually had a baby with him…Ross’ smartness holds the group together as everybody goes to him with their issues and worries…so, it’s okay to be a nerd, as long as you have a great bunch of friends who love you for what you are.

Being silly is okay (Rachel):
She is the quintessential hottie of the group, who starts off as being rather silly and materialistic. But turns into a matured and responsible woman later in the series. See? That’s how it’s done. You start off as irresponsible when you have others in the group to help you and when the time is right, you pick up these features with ease! No need to fret about having a little fun and letting your hair down, as long you’re a good person.

Flirting is good for the heart (Joey):
Yes! Today is World Heart Day, so take a cue from Joey Tribbiani and flirt like a pro…Joey is essentially a good guy, which is evident when he proposes to Phoebe thinking she is pregnant with a guy who has abandoned her! Even though he flirts a lot, he does fall in love with Rachel but it doesn’t work out as he is a better friend and human being. Oooh!

Being quirky is cool (Phoebe):
If you’re the unconventional one in the group, accept it and enjoy it. It’s fine to be different, because in the end it’s all going to work out for you. Much like Phoebe, who has no real family to talk about, but ends with a good guy Matt. You don’t have to ape any of your friends, maintain your individuality and you’re sorted.

Being funny can be an asset (Chandler):
Most Friends fanatics would swear by Chandler for his wit, humour and sarcasm. He was pobably the worst when it came to relationships and love, but he ended up marrying his best friend! It’s cool to be the joker of the group, because everybody loves a fun loving guy/girl! If you are not serious about life like your other friends, worry not. You’re Chandler and you’re going to Telsa…hmm places.

Friendship is greater than love:
Sometimes, friendship is greater than even love. And when you to pick between the two, go the Joey way. Is your friend more important to you than the one you love or is the other way round? Rachel had always been in love with Ross, but had she not…and fallen for Joey, would it have worked out for the two? Knowing that Ross is the father of Rachel’s baby?
