Songs that became the youth anthems – We always want to time-travel to the days of Lucky Ali, K.K, Shaan, Sonu Nigan, Viva and Euphoria when their songs become youth anthems as soon as releasing.

Those were the chartbusters we played on the loop on our audio-cassettes and kept humming in our way to school.

Kya Soorat Hai-Bombay Vikings:

This song was the cycle-stalkers’ favourite who would sing them to their beloved for wooing. This song was a peppy one but perfect for praising the beautiful features of a woman. It was from Bombay Vikings and they completely nailed it back then.

Tanhaa dil- Shaan:
This song still makes our eyes well-up with tears. The young blood is always on the boil with the spirit to bring a change. Their eyes are reservoir of dreams that they seek to materialize someday and this song set that tone perfectly. Shaan was at his best here and this will be a benchmark song of his career.

Made in India-Alisha Chinai:

This song was not limited to a certain time frame and spanned generations for being a massive hit of that time. A World-trotting princess seeking to settle for an Indian heart that will hold her there forever is the theme of the song and Alisha has completely fared it with the modish tonality of her voice.

Purani Jeans- K.K:

No wonder K.K was a youth icon of that time. His songs resonated with the sentimentalities of the young guns and this song is completely relevant to the frustration of a sycophantic corporate man whose heart belongs to his college days.

Hum Naye Geet Sunaye-VIVA:

VIVA was the all-girls band that we still miss. This song was the youth anthem of that time for obvious reasons. The young generation always vie for something new and exciting and the song puts that zeal in words.

Deewana Tera- Sonu Nigam:

This oh-so-romantic song touched our weak nerves. And to top that, there was Sonu’s irresistible voice. Every girl wants to be treated like a princess by their lover and this song made their wait for Mr.Right more painstaking.

Deewane-Shweta Shetty:

This song tells you how a girl enjoys the attention of her fans still feigns annoyance. The Nakhre she has leaves the lover-boys weak on their nerves. Shweta Shetty was a badass lady who took the Hindi indipop scene to superlatives as soon as she emerged in popularity with this song.

Kabhi ana tu meri gali- Euphoria:

Palash Sen was the national crush back then and Euphoria was the common favourite of teenagers for their youth-oriented romantic numbers. This song was one of their musical geniuses that still make us smile.

Our fearsome warriors have no qualms in laying down their lives to safeguard our interest, the national property and to give us peaceful sleep during the night while they freeze in the Siachen glacier, keeping a probing eye on the enemy.

After all, it takes a strong heart to volunteer for serving the country when they know that death is inevitable. The standout initiative is envisaged and conceptualized by Shri Sunil Rane, Chairman of Atharva Foundation. They have now come up with their new music video which features Sonu Nigam to reach out to the common masses because music can do what dry words can’t.

Sonu Nigam is one of the leading singers of the nation for his soul-stirring voice and years of contribution to Indian music. Sonu, apart from enriching the contemporary Bollywood music, some of which have become youth anthems, showed some serious singing chops in Indian Classical and left the nation doting on him.

This music video speaks volumes being a painful reminder of the predicaments our national heroes pass through. There have been many instances when their sacrifices were forgotten but we should acknowledge the fact that no sacrifice made for the interest of the nation should be forgotten, big or small. It’s not only the soldiers, but their families too condition their minds that their children may be martyred in the battlefield and yet they send them off to serve the motherland smilingly. No loss is as taxing as parents losing their child but the parents of our soldiers have set examples many times by even sending their second son to the battlefield after losing their firstborn while fighting for the nation.

This video also pays heartfelt tribute to the heroes like Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan who died defending his country against the terrorists in 26/11 Mumbai attack, Colonel Niranjan Kumar, a member of NSG’s bomb-disposal squad, who died during defusing a grenade after the Pathankot terror attack, martyrs of Uri attack and many other likes of them through music.

Here’s good news for all the Sonu Nigam fans as he will be returning on screen as an Indian Idol Judge nearly after 10 years.

Earlier, our Bollywood singer judged season 1 and season 2 which was aired on Sony TV and now he is all set to judge season 7.

Well, season 6 was taken place in 2012. It was judged by Anu Malik, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Salim Merchant and since then for four years there was no call on it. Apart from that in the year 2013 and 2015 there was Indian Idol Junior that ruled our hearts.

And, this time in 2016 to make it a hit once again; Sonu Nigam is coming back & as rumors are Anu Malik will be the second Judge.

Well, no further details are revealed about the season.

Sonu Nigam craved for a performance in public but not in a usual way.

Sonu changed his entire look as a street performer and sang on different streets for hours and ya, no one recognized him.

From this video he remarked on a very important thing that how one should live in present and must show unbiased love and appreciation.

But the silver lining is that there were  few who didn’t ignore his soulful singing and one person showcased most wonderful gesture which touched Sonu’s heart.

He did this wonderful social experiment in association with Being Indian.
