Masala chai by Ammi-ji

According to her, nothing was to her satisfaction while making her kind of masala tea. After giving trials on masala for the chai it was after almost 72 years that she found her experiment to be successful. The journey to reach her blends of masala for her exclusive chai wasn’t easy. She wanted to revive the flavor of Ammi-Ji’s mother tea. But nothing was working to hold that level of uniqueness.

Every time a new combination of the spices was used to discover the same old flavor. But it was difficult for her, but as the experiment continued she came up with an amazing blend. Not similar to her mother’s recipe but it acted as magic to change the flavor of her tea.

Slowly as a tea lover, she carried it with her where ever she went. Offering her rare and tasty blend masala was enjoyed by consumers.

Being a part of a family her granddaughter and daughter in law have always cherished the savory. Almost 100 of her blended masala chai packages were sold.

Life changed after promotion in Facebook

Nothing is easy in life! But a bit of interest and patience can develop a great opportunity realizing from the grandma’s story of becoming an entrepreneur. The time begins with a new edition when the promotion of Ammiji’s masala chai was on social media. Amrita her granddaughter took her special brand of masala chai to Facebook. Then and thereby, the business begins to progress from 2015. When few more hundreds of jars were sold to her customers. Her distinctive and magical blend for the tea was brand after 2018.

Her brand was sold online after 2018, it was a mega start for the 92-year-old entrepreneur. Now sells Wadiya and papad that are also in great demand. The business that started with the masala chai now has 40 products on its list.

Finally, Old grandma is an entrepreneur who has a retail business selling 40 products. The increase in their products is for last two years which has pulled up to deal with so many starts from just one. Progress was not in one day, it was their determination and interest that has given them a new sky.

Making money is art and working is art and good business is the best art” – said Andy Warhol

Well, there are many dreams out there to own a good business, to be an entrepreneur and make loads of money which can fulfill life’s desires.

We know that starting a business is an aspiration for many young and not-so-young-too. However, only a few are able to follow through their impulses and start a business, because many a times, not having enough money to do so, becomes the obstacle.

I say, money shouldn’t be a problem at all, to kick start a venture! Ask me how?

Well, first and foremost with the advent and development of Internet commerce, birthing a business can now be done with little or may be no money at all too, provided you are venturing into something which has all the potential to earn its own capital in the later stages.

I am going to share a few prospective pointers with you, if you are a business aspirant but are holding on to your ideas in lack of investment . And trust me, all of this is coming through firsthand experience, for I am an entrepreneur myself and have been there done that.

Here are 5 magical ways to start a promising business with no money at all:

Weigh Yourself On The Personal Key Assets

To be an entrepreneur, you have to dig in the familiar grounds. Exploring unknown territories would be a futile thought. Evaluate yourself on the skills, equipment and assets you already have that you can use to start a business. For example, when I knew I have a computer, an internet connection and writing skills, then I knew I could start up a freelance writing business with little or no money at all. Similarly if you are the one with cooking or decoration skills, you can start right away with spreading the business takeaways throw word of mouth, in the closest of your target audience. Identifying is the key skill here. Identifying self owned skills, and your selling domain.

Have An Effective Business Plan In Place

Create a business plan to help you organize your business and create goals for its future. You can download a business plan template free online. Use this as a guide to help you create your business plan. This should be the first course of action because it will lay down a clear graph for you, in terms of the execution, growth and results of the business. Take out time to talk to people in the similar businesses and identify their high and low points. This will help you to equip yourself with highs, and to avoid the lows, much before you start on your own.

Determine The Kind of Businesses That Are Feasible With Your Kind of Skills

You will have to explore on what type of business you want to start, and whether it is feasible with your hands-on skills or not. Take into consideration your interests, your prominent skills, which should also involve selling your skills and ideas too, the amount of time you wish to spend on the business if you are already employed. For instance, if you are web developer, you might want to get started with your own part-time website designing business, which initially wouldn’t involve any money at all, if you can solely design and develop a website on your own, or by involving a friend in that. All you would need is to sell your skills effectively to the one who is in need at that point of time. Nail the opportunity at the right time. If you are an interior decorator, you might want to go into a partnership venture with someone who can invest a bit in building your business identification and marketing it.

Research On Your Business Options

Look around and research on the presentation of your business idea. If you are interested in an office-free, online businesses then you may want to explore art and literature businesses, freelance writing businesses and freelance data entry businesses. Platforms like LinkedIn, SkillPages and many more are perfect to start advertising your business and get hold of prospective clientele. If you already have your own office equipment, and experience of structural jobs such as travel agency, wedding planning, or office maintenance outsourcing, you can start up with that too. Without investing any major sum in the beginning.

Keep An Eye On The Prospects

If you are looking to offer your skills to a companies, scan through the classified ads for companies that are offering telecommuting positions or work from home opportunities. Read through online job listings for telecommuting positions or consulting positions. Sites like “Craigslist” and “Monster” are both great places to find job opportunities. This is also a great way to make business contacts and to get your home business off the ground. Also, having a good network of professional friends can help you a great deal in this. You may have a ready clientele with you, if you have been investing your time in sound networking. Networking doesn’t really require any big money, we all know that.

Well, I am sincerely hoping that there were some takeaways for you, from this article. If you are the one who has entrepreneurial aspirations and the zeal to follow, I say, do not let them go waste.

Start right away and build a league of your own.

Yes, you can!

An entrepreneur is a person who undertakes an enterprise or a business, with the chance of profit or loss. An entrepreneur is an individual who uses venture capital to start and finance a new enterprise, and who assumes the financial risks associated with owning, operating, and managing an enterprise.

While many consider entrepreneurs to be visionaries, dreamers, and charismatic leaders, not all entrepreneurs share these characteristics, and Indian youth today has a lot of potential to emerge as dynamic and successful entrepreneurs.

Most entrepreneurs are individuals who march to their own drums, and who have the drive, determination, and perseverance, to bring ideas and opportunities to life. Indian entrepreneurs usually have a clear, communicable vision, a passion for their areas of interest, the motivation to take their vision to market, and the perseverance to continue in spite of obstacles and setbacks. We have many recent examples and success stories to support that.

Indian Youth today is driven towards entrepreneurial ventures or startups due to the following reasons:

Sense of Accomplishment: Entrepreneurs have the need to achieve and experience a sense of accomplishment.

Innovation/Invention: Entrepreneurs have a drive to invent new products, services, processes, markets or opportunities, and to create new rules of competition. And with the innovations in technology and web arena, the resources and opening up.

Career Transition: Entrepreneurs often make career transitions upon job laid off, downsizing, outsourcing, retirement, or the desire for independence.

Recognition: Entrepreneurs hunger for: status, power, or recognition for the value of an idea or an enterprise.

Wealth Building: Although entrepreneurs may become wealthy individuals, entrepreneurs typically do not consider wealth creation as their primary goal – wealth creation presents itself as the byproduct of the entrepreneurial adventure.

Principles: Many entrepreneurs are driven to build businesses that are governed by deeply-held principles and values that contribute to their community and to society as well.

Job Rejections: Yes, this is major reason behind more and more youth turning towards own businesses.

What motivates an entrepreneur is the drive to control his own professional life, his schedule, manage his own workload, and steward his own destiny. Entrepreneurs want to envision a future where they are doing what they love to do!

The entrepreneurs are, without a doubt, horses of a different breed. Entrepreneurs are mavericks with vision and determination to create a company that takes the vision to market and advance the nation as a whole.

So, what actually are the requirements or expectations of today’s youth from the nation and the government, if they wish to drive their professional lives as entrepreneurs?

We asked this question to a group of self-driven and energised young people and here are a few answers that draw a clear picture in front of us.

Youth 1 –

A businesses and entrepreneur friendly government that recognizes the need and value of promoting entrepreneurship in India for the next growth wave. Also, a clear indication of the increasing intelligence of Indian citizens/consumers of what is good for them and they refused to be taken for a ride.

Youth – 2

Get economy back on track, control inflation and corruption, bring out policies that boost entrepreneurship and also, generate large scale employment.

Youth – 3

I expect the government to focus on true development and encourage people of India to become truly productive, efficient and self-sufficient. I ask that the Modi government delivers on the promise of “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance”.

Youth – 4

Expectations are to have a stable, decisive, business friendly and transparent government!

Youth – 5 (Had a very clear and impressive, laid down perspective)

Business Friendly Rules and Regulations, especially for startups

Make it easy to start a new business.

Reduce amount of compliance required for smaller companies

Youth – 6

Clear and decisive mandate!

Youth – 8

Good governance, minimum bureaucracy, Catalyst of overall development, Encourage and nourish entrepreneurship!

Youth – 9

People overcome caste/religious prejudices and the business opportunities are given equally among the business society.

Youth – 10

Encouragement to entrepreneurship, less bureaucracy, Impartial policies.

Youth – 11

I want a stable government. Clear policies and plan of action for the development and make Indian an attractive investment destination. I would like to see the businesses and consumers more confident about the future prospects. I simply want the new government to deliver the promises.

Youth- 12

One of the basic expectations every common man is looking forward to is, some disruption in the tax structure (direct & indirect) for startups. Looking at the growth of startups in India and the attention they are getting, there should be a separate ministry for SMEs which helps to expedite reforms.

Youth – 13

My expectations are same as the rest of the country – development across all sectors. Being an entrepreneur, I would like the new government to provide a better environment to do business, better tax systems, open up the markets to FDI, high-speed connectivity to more regions of India, instill confidence in foreign investors, you know the list goes on.. I feel that if the agenda is strictly development, then many things will automatically fall in place.

Youth – 14

Expectation from new government:

Ease the process of starting up by making it easy to start and close a company

Ensure that entrepreneurs have access to smart capital at an

Early stage (The number of early stage deals in India is way below than that in te US and EU)

Give support to entrepreneurs who are solving India specific problems by removing the bureaucratic hurdles

So, you can see that youth today is quite informed and clear visioned and what are they expecting from the government!

If they are provided with these resources and given the opportunities within the required framework, with less logistics and regulatory hurdles, every youth can be an entrepreneur and take the nation to a new level of growth and development.

Can we give them?
