No mean feat for sure in a country of billions with diverse ideologies and multiple political parties all trying everything in the book and outside of it to grab power or to hold on to it.

Even though his appeal is fading away, which is obvious as nothing is permanent; the way his opponents are ganging up against him is mind-boggling! It may be an ego-boost for him, but for an outsider it does look like an uneven competition.

On one hand you have one party, BJP and its smaller companions forming the government, while on the other hand you have the entire opposition rallying up against him. In the forthcoming Bihar elections, Congress has tied up with Nitish Kumar’s JD (U) and Lalu Prasad Yadav’s RJD to give stiff competition to Modi. We don’t know who is going to win or lose, but the fact that such stalwarts are not fighting graft, corruption or poverty caused by their own parties in the past few decades of rotten rule and are in fact training their guns at Modi baffles everyone. Is Modi such a huge figure that instead of working on issues for the common man, the political parties are only trying to prevent BJP to come to power?

Every election rally or media interview is aimed at taking pot-shots at Modi or his policies. Agreed, he hasn’t done wonders for the country and many of his ministers and party-people have been in the habit of putting their foot in the mouth. Also, I agree that the promises made before the general Lok Sabha elections were too huge to be fulfilled and were made to catch votes. Still the question is that the parties that are hitting at him, what has been their track record?

For one, Nitish Kumar did bring a change in Bihar. Not only the economy grew, but it became a safer state compared to what it was during Lalu’s rule. So why has Nitish become so desperate for power that he has shook hands with Lalu? What about Congress? Have they all forgotten the multitude of corruption cases piling-up against the party for which there are no satisfactory answers? Lalu’s track record is for all to see and there can’t be any argument!

This does look like just power-struggle instead of any genuine attempt to serve the common man. At least at the centre, Modi is ‘seen’ to be working for the betterment of the country. That perception also does wonders when we compare to UPA 2 when not even a leaf moved from its place! The heartening fact is that whether it is due to UPA’s policies or Modi’s efforts, the country is in a much better place economically than it was a year ago.

Bihar elections might remind everyone whether Modi is still the behemoth he is considered to be or is losing his sheen. But whatever happens, one thing is for sure that even after one year of grabbing power, he is still instilling fear in his opponents for them to lose their sleep and join hands with their enemies to hold on to power at any cost!

India hasn’t seen such a leader in many many years! Let’s hope we get many more of Modi’s kind, of course in an improved and refined manner!

However, except for stalling the Parliamentary proceedings and raking up non-issues, the party hasn’t been able to do much to revive its sagging fortunes.

In these times, yet again the only ray of light that everyone is looking at is Priyanka Gandhi Vadra!

No doubt, Rahul Gandhi has come back from his long introspective break and jumped into the thick of things, raising issues left, right and centre and trying to do everything possible to be counted as a serious politician. However, he is making all the right noises without offering solutions for any of the problems. In fact, he is not even realizing that many of the problems of today were created by his party’s government only over the years! This is one reason his respect amongst the ordinary citizens is not gaining much ground, even if his party members are trying to at least look like supporting him whole-heartedly.

This is why Priyanka is so important for the revival of the grand old party, but she is very rigid about her stand of not entering active politics. The joke doing the rounds is that she doesn’t want to take away her brother’s only source of employment. Frankly speaking, there is a lot of truth in this logic as well considering the fact that if she decided to throw her hat in the electoral politics, the party will definitely be divided in two, at least initially. One lobby will support her and another for Rahul! This division will not be good for Congress at all and might give fodder to other parties who will milk the situation to their benefit!

Secondly, she currently has her husband, Robert Vadra as a major liability in terms of land scams and corruption cases against him. It will be difficult for her to keep herself away from his wrong doings and the stains on her political journey will be too hard to be removed for any victory.

In short, even though she is the ultimate Ace who can make Congress count again, she is tied down due to the inefficiencies of her own immediate family members. The only factor that can work against her personally as of now is that no one knows her political views and vision in detail. She has been capturing the common man’s imagination purely due to her strong resemblance to her grandmother, late Mrs. Indira Gandhi and for her no-nonsense attitude visible during her electoral promotions in support of her mom, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and brother. Add on to it her gift of the gab, her ability to give right sound bites and her charisma and you have a winner on hand!

May be more than her own willingness to join politics, the atmosphere isn’t conducive enough for her to step into electoral politics. She has to enter only when she is assured of a massive victory, kind of a big bang in politics. Anything less than that will not befitting the potential Queen of Indian Politics!

After all, India’s prodigal son, Rahul G\RaGa, Baba, Beta G, Baby Bwoy is back!

The whole nation, even the CIA, CBI, CID and all other intelligence agencies couldn’t decipher as to where our ‘Baba’ had vanished. He does not know magic but he did vanish into thin air exactly 57 days ago!

Maybe he wanted to prove that he actually ‘matters’ in Indian politics. 😛

Okay, fine! Stop smirking! Be polite! Our ‘chotu’ is finally home after an alleged trip to Thailand and Myanmar.

Well, we think the story is totally cock and bull or maybe actually true. Let’s put our imaginative caps on our hands and let’s try to zero-in on places he was actually in…

Ready? Let’s begin ACP Pradyuman style… ‘Kuchtohgadbadhai!’

We feel these are the five places he actually went to:

1. The Sunderbans

Failure in politics and lack of administrative skills might have given a huge jolt to RaGa and he might have tried to play it Tom Hanks style getting lost in a jungle on a far-away island.

57 days is long enough to be lost at sea isn’t it?

How we wish the Royal Bengal Tigers to have played with him, but sadly we don’t see any scratches or maul marks on him. Maybe tigers do not associate with politi-shit!

2. Thailand: For A Prospective Bride *Wink Wink*

Okay, for a second, we might actually believe he went to where the media claims he was. Why? Maybe he is tired of ‘being single’ and wants to get settled in life. After all, politics ain’t really cutting it for him is it? 😛

Maybe he went to these exotic countries to find a suitable bride for him. No Indian girl might be willing to take the plunge with Rahul G – G for Grand Train-wreck!

After all, his ‘papa ji’ Rajiv Gandhi also went to a foreign country (Italy) to find his bride, right?

Maybe he got married to an Oriental girl secretly and went for a hush-hush honeymoon? *wink* 😛

3. May be Kedarnath?

Maybe he was hiding in India only. The foreign trip might be made up or have been taken at the last moment to give the media something credible to bitch about.

A visit to Kedarnath seems befitting, not only might he have gotten spiritual enlightenment, he also might have turned into a sadhu baba since a disguise as an ascetic was the best ploy to avoid being recognized and mobbed by the media as Rahul Gandhi – The helm of the Congress Party.

After all, failure and bad decisions in life make people head towards the Himalayas to turn into a sadhu isn’t it?

4. Mummy KaPallu

After all, a mother’s love is supreme. For ‘Englisshhhh’ speaking people, a pallu is the throw of the saree (its loose end) . Mommy Gandhi might have just shielded her ‘baby bwoy’ from all the harsh media comments and kept him safely tucked inside her ‘pallu’.

After all this ‘mentally the sick bwoy’ needs to be under momma’s supervision. Even after all his political follies, Momma Gandhi treats her son’s errors as ‘SaatKhoonMaaf’.

5. Italy! Miseimancatomolto! (I missed you so much!)

If reports are to be believed floated by the media, RaGa baba holds an Italian passport aka dual citizenship. So why not go to the country for a sabbatical where people actually understand his blabbering?

After all, Momma Gandhi allegedly owns a fortress in her home country, a suitable hiding place for the little bwoy from the harsh realities of life!

Jokes apart, we are glad the next generation leader of India is back! The nation missed him a lot, he has put an end to misguided speculations that he is leaving politics for good.

Okay fine, the above paragraph was a joke! Why is he back for another round of shaming? All these years wasn’t enough for you Baba G? 😛

The sudden disappearance could mean two things – either he is REALLY upset about Congress’ loss to BJP in the 2014 General Elections or he is diligently planning to come back hard at the ruling party in the 2019 General Elections.

We wish to rule out the past and the present here and instead focus on the future – the future of India under Congress, once again.

What if Congress wins and Rahul Gandhi becomes India’s next Prime Minister (or let’s crank it up a notch and assume him as a dictator)? Here’s a hypothetical evaluation of how things would be different than they are now under Narendra Modi’s regime –

Italian Would Be One of the Languages Taught in School

Italian would be taught in Indian schools

Being born to an Italian mother, Rahul is assumed to have emotional attachment to the language. Why not introduce it in Indian schools? Say goodbye to French and German.

MS Word Would Have Italics by Default

MS Word would have italics font as default

All Indians, who use MS Word on regular basis, would have their text style settings as italics. Italics font is fancier than normal text; so, makes sense.

Bomber Jacket Would Become a Style Accessory

Men would rely on bomber jacket to make a style statement

Rahul Gandhi incorporated bomber jacket to his everyday style staple, which was a Rajiv Gandhi trademark. Bomber jacket definitely has to be one of the biggest ironies on part of Rajiv Gandhi.

Investment in State-Of-The-Art Technology to Eradicate “Poverty”

Poverty would be eradicated via technology

Rahul Gandhi would definitely want to eradicate poverty, which he termed as a “state of mind” drawing criticism. His investment in technology would help change people’s mindset making them feel richer every day.

A Road or an Institution Will Be Named After Sonia Gandhi, Finally

Sonia Gandhi would have something named after her

No road or institution is named after Rahul Gandhi’s mother Sonia Gandhi. Most of his other family members have that honour. Rahul will make sure his mother gets the respect she deserves.
