On the 81st birthday of the romance king of Bollywood, Yash Chopra, when Shahrukh Khan walked the ramp with nine leading ladies from the late filmmaker’s movies, while we were awestruck with some, we were equally appalled with the others, including the King Khan himself.

Shahrukh is usually well dressed and looks dapper in whatever he wears, whether he is hosting the Filmfare Awards in a tuxedo, or is dressed in casuals while returning from a trip when the paparazzi catch him at the airport. But, we found this outfit a bit too tacky for him, specially with that white piping and atrocious zip on the upper.

Parineeti Chopra’s lehenga was regal and so was her jewellery. But we really think she went a bit overboard with the headgear. There is too much happening on her head and is clearly not suiting her charming, childlike face. She would have looked surreal had she done away with that headband.

Anushka is a bit too thin for our liking, but we think she pulls off hot pants and traditional Indian attire with equal finesse. What we absolutely dislike about her is the new hairstyle with front bangs, which are looking really off on her. Add to that a bindi and red flowers in her braid, which would have otherwise looked good sans the front bangs.

We want to keep mum on whatever Preity has done to her erstwhile sunshine face, but she really knows how to dress up well, like a lady. She has hardly disappointed us ever which her choice of clothes, makeup and accessories and looks elegant in this white, embroidered Kashmiri-style sharara. Unlike Parineeti, we love the headgear on Preity. She has kept it right.

We are really fond of Juhi as an actress and a personality, but we are wondering what she was thinking when she wore that awfully printed lehenga. We understand that floral print is in, but we have to be careful about the colours and not take inspiration from holi.

In a fuchsia pink, embroidered ghagra, braided locks and a beautiful nath, Rani was the showstopper for us. We like everything about her look, right from the choice of colour, design, makeup, hairdo and accessories. Thumbs Up!

We have very neutral feelings for Kat’s ramp look. The attire was neither good nor ugly, accessories we just fine and so was her hair, and the bright lips also couldn’t do much. Quite so-so.

We have been amazed with Madhuri’s reinvented persona on Zhalak Dikhhla Jaa and the actress continues to astound us with her one-in-a-million face and impeccable dressing sense. We loved her in a sensuous black sequinned sari and a chic hairdo.

Sridevi looked stunning in a silver and white lehenga but she would have looked much more elegant had she gone a bit easy on her jewellery and hair accessories.

Rekha was at her usual best in a golden Kanjivaram saree and ethnic jewellery. We quite like her statement maang tikka.
