The sleeping partners: Congress slams Modi to defend AAP

The Congress party, which keeps receiving bitter remarks from AAP’s side, will face it again in lok sabha elections this year. In fact, AAP leaders have given open challenge to Congress big wigs. But the party still chose to defend AAP against Modi.

Barely two days after Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal abandoned his people who had come to his janta durbar debute due to a ‘stampede like’ situation,Gujarat chief minister and Bhartiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi took a dig at AAP.

He said that AAP loved the camera and was just playing the media to get people’s attention. Being critical of AAP government’s ruling style, he had tweeted on Monday, “People must decide — will good happen by constantly being on TV screens or through constructive and development- oriented vision on ground.”

Interestingly, it was the new ally Congress which responded to Modi’s jibe at AAP. He party said that Modi was afraid of losing all the publicity and media attention to the hands of AAP leaders which media loves.

It should be noted that despite being allies, AAP has always trained its guns on Congress on various matters. Their bitter-sweet relation goes back to Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement when Kejriwal shied away from forming a party and contesting elections.

Then a change of heart led to the formation of Aam Aadmi Party which vowed never to take side of ‘dirty and evil’ Congress party whose netas were corrupt to the core.

Fate, as people will say, Kejriwal won assembly elections and now runs government with Congress’ support.

AAP’s working model is full of experiments and it does not seem to have any concrete and proven administrative idea which should be incorporated as a model in Delhi. The policies with which they are moving forward are yet to prove themselves and most of the time their arrangements have ended up creating chaos.

The party is ready to launch itself nationally even when it is not doing so good at their experimenting ground – Delhi – whose public is gradually hating them for mulling electricity bill wavers and reservation in colleges.

The Congress party, which keeps receiving bitter remarks from AAP’s side, will face it again in lok sabha elections this year. In fact, AAP leaders have given open challenge to Congress big wigs. But the party still chose to defend AAP against Modi.

What better proof one would want of their secret understanding and public charade?
