Kejriwal’s new home: Not so ‘˜aam’ but not sprawling either

Kejriwal to soon move into two five bedroom duplex flats with family at Bhagwan Das Road.

Delhi’s new Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is all for shunning the VIP culture but few things are just not possible. It seems that the Delhi government officials were able to convince Kejriwal finally pointing out that logistics of travelling to and fro daily to Ghaziabad were not feasible.

Now, after operating from his home at Kaushambi for a week, Kejriwal is all set to shift to his new residence in the capital at 7/6 and 7/7 Bhagwan Dass Road.

The new residence is surely not aam aadmi’s modest housing, but it not sprawling like those of earlier ministers either. It has two big adjacent duplex flats. Each of the two duplex flats has five bedrooms and a lawn.

The chief minister was handed over the keys to the flats on Wednesday itself. His family too visited the place on Friday morning, giving the house a final go-ahead.

The two apartments are now being renovated to suit the needs of the new chief minister and his family.

Reportedly, Kejriwal and his family would be living in one of the duplex apartments, while the other would be converted into his office.

The house was chosen carefully given its proximity to the Delhi Secretariat and Aam Aadmi Party’s office in Connaught Place.
