Huawei Ascend G6 is the latest mid-ranged offering from Huawei. Promising some great camera performance, the device is extremely light and boasts of svelte looks.
Launched at the MWC earlier this year, along with other models of handsets and tablets, the new Huawei Ascend G6 is now available in India via an e-commerce website. It seems that the Chinese handset maker, Huawei, is rapidly trying to spread its wings in the mid-range smartphone segment in India.
The news of launch of Huawei Ascend G6 comes few weeks after the recently introduced Huawei Honor 3C. The news on availability of the third device, the Huawei Ascend G750, might also follow shortly.
Available in hues of black, blue, gold, pink, and white, the Huawei Ascend G6 sports a 7.85mm thickness profile and weighs a mere 115 grams. Equipped with elegantly curved edges, the handset looks beautiful and classy.
Donning a 4.5-inch HD display with 960 x 540 pixels resolution and 245 ppi pixel density, the phone derives its power from a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM. It runs Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS toppled with Emotion v2.0 Lite UI and holds an inbuilt storage of 4 GB which is expandable up to 32 GB with the help of a MicroSD card.
In the connectivity department, the phone offers 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS/EDGE, NFC, Micro-USB, and 3G. A 2,000 mAh battery fuels the smartphone.
The device houses a 8 MP rear camera loaded with features, such as, auto focus, LED flash, Sony IMX134 BSI sensor, f2.0 aperture, HD video recording, beauty mode, and sequential & macro shooting. It also ships with an incredible 5 MP front-facing shooter for skyping and clicking selfies, and comes packed with splendid features, such as, voice photo function, 88-degree wide angles, and selfie preview window.
Other Huawei Ascend G6 features include capacitive touchscreen, 3.5 mm audio jack, proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and more.
The price of Huawei Ascend G6 is approximately INR 17,000.
Presently, customers can buy the phone with the black colored chassis from the popular online store, Flipkart.
Touted as the cheaper version of last year’s Ascend P6, the smartphone will face stiff competition with the likes of Moto G, Sony Xperia C, Nokia Lumia 625, and several other brands. Although the specs of Huawei Ascend G6 are pretty similar with those of Moto G and other rivals, the Ascend G6 seems slightly over-priced as compared to its competitors. It does score well in terms of its stylish looks, slim & lightweight design, powerful front-facing camera functionalities, and 4G connectivity. However, its real-time performance will prove whether it’s a worthy buy or not.
