The new Blackberry Z3 is on its way to the Indian shores. Boasting of having a sleek design, ample storage, and decent hardware & software, Z3 is great news for Blackberry fanatics. Before its official launch, let’s have an insight on how it scores against its rival brand.
Today’s Indian smartphone market offers a chock-full of affordable yet highly functional handsets. Now and again, international and domestic brands are introducing new phones that are not only budget-friendly but also render some decent configurations and features. With only few days left for the much-awaited launch of Blackberry Z3 in India, we bring you a comparison of the device with the popular Motorola Moto G, to see how the new entrant fares when stacked up against its competitor.
Design & Built
Motorola Moto G boasts of a large & solid build and comes with changeable back covers and water-nano coating. The Blackberry Z3 flaunts a sleeker body and a textured back, enabling users to easily hold and grip the device.
While the Moto G offers a higher resolution display of 720×1280 pixels and higher pixel density of 326 ppi, it poses a slightly smaller screen of 4.5-inch IPS LCD as compared to its rival. Z3 sports a gracious 5-inch Qhd display with resolution of 960x540p and pixel density of 220 ppi.
Both the handsets derive their power from a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400processor. While the Moto G packs 1 GB of RAM, the Z3 features a healthy 1.5GB of RAM. The Moto G runs the latest Android OS, and the Z3 uses its proprietary Blackberry 10 OS.
Moto G comes in 8 GB and 16 GB variants, with no options of storage expansion. In the case of Z3, the manufacturer has thrown in 8 GB of internal storage, which is also expandable up to 32 GB with the help of a MicroSD card.
While the Z3 ships with a 5 MP camera at the rear and a 1.1 MP front-facing shooter, Moto G offers a similar 5 MP rear snapper paired with a 1.3 MP camera at the front.
Both the devices offer standard connectivity options, such as, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11, USB 2.0, GPS, and more.
Here, the Z3 is a clear winner, with a voluminous 2,500 mAh of juicer, as compared to a 2,070 mAh of battery offered by Moto G. Z3 unarguably promises to deliver a great battery life.
The price of Motorola Moto G – 8GB variant is around INR 12,500, and the expected price of Blackberry Z3 is approximately INR 11,500.
By virtue of the outstanding specs of Motorola Moto G, the device is definitely an ideal choice for a budgeted Android handset. On the other hand, the features of Blackberry Z3 are bound to steal the hearts of its loyalists. The final decision however depends on the user’s preference and brand choice.
