Delhi residents satisfied with quality of life: Report

Citizens of Delhi are satisfied with the quality of life they lead as assessed on the basis of indicators like employment, education and healthcare, a report revealed.

Citizens of Delhi are satisfied with the quality of life they lead as assessed on the basis of indicators like employment, education and healthcare, a report revealed on Saturday.

“Satisfaction levels may vary across age, gender, social groups etc. but the variation is not large. While 85 percent of the highest income groups expressed satisfaction with their quality of life, the figure for lowest income group was 64 percent,” said the Delhi Human Development Report 2013.

The report was released by Vice President Hamid Ansari along with Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit here.

“While 30 per cent of the respondents felt that the number and the quality of work opportunities in Delhi were average, a similar proportion felt that they had improved over time,” it added.

“The household income was considered to be stable by more than 60 percent of the people,” it said further.

Rating their interaction with different government departments, Delhiites chose Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to be the most satisfying, followed by the electricity department, Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), the Delhi Jal Board and the traffic wing of Delhi Police.
