English League leaders Arsenal take onto last year’s UEFA Champions League runner-up, Borussia Dortmund in a group game tonight. Expect a spectacle of football at its best with two of the best teams in Europe. We preview the key players for tonight’s game who could make a difference for their team:

Arsenal:
Olivier Giroud
North London side may have been critical of French forward Olivier Giroud last season but this year, he has started off with a bang. Giroud has been instrumental in taking Arsenal to the summit of the Premier League, scoring six goals and one in Europe against Napoli. His presence going forward will be the key for Arsenal if they are to upstage the German club.

Mesut Ozil
The Arsenal midfielder is really taking his game to a whole new level everytime he gets out on the field. Mesut Ozil’s confidence will be sky high after the two goals against Norwich City in the league and will be gunning to go against his old foes, Borussia Dortmund. No wonder Dortmund manager praised him by saying, “”He is technically perfect, he is fast and has developed a drive to goal. He is very intelligent, can play in any team. He has everything, is natural and it works very well.”

Aaron Ramsey
Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey is on a goal scoring spree at the moment. His confidence is sky high and with Mathieu Flamini out injured, Ramsey will start alongside Mikel Arteta. Borussia Dortmund will have to be highly alert with Ramsey who can skip past the opposition defence with much ease.

Laurent Koscielny
2 years ago, Laurent Koscielny was an unknown name in Europe but today he is one of backbone in the heart of Arsenal’s defence. His partnership with Per Mertesacker will be crucial in thwarting off the dangers posed by Dortmund’s attackers.

Borussia Dortmund:
Robert Lewandowski
The Polish forward who was rumoured to be on his way to German rivals, Bayern Munich, remains a threat to Arsenal’s defence. He may have had a forgetful match against England in the World Cup qualifiers for Poland but would want to amend it by scoring freely against Arsenal.

Jakub Blaszczykowski
Winger and Poland captain Jakub Blaszczykowski’s runs darting forward will have Arsenal full backs running their sleeves out.

Mats Hummels
The Borussia defender will be out to nullify the ‘Arsenal passing game’. Mats Hummels who is also a regular for the German national squad, will have a massive task ahead in stopping the likes of Ozil and Giroud.

Lars Bender
The midfielder once linked to Arsenal, will be out to show Arsene, what the latter missed out on. With Mario Goetze at Bayern Munich, all banks now on Bender so as to provide that extra creativity and skill which the team lacks.
