Promises true swaraj, protection to whistleblowers and clean water.
After creating 70 manifestos for the 70 constituencies of Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party released its consolidated manifesto today. Reading out the main points of the manifesto, AAP member Yogendra Yadav detailed on the specific points too.
Here are some important promises made by AAP:
- Lokpal Bill: The party has promised that it will pass Lokpal Bill in Delhi assembly after coming to power. The party promised adequate protection to the whistleblowers and punishment to corrupt.
- True Swaraj: In line with Gandhian thoughts, the party promised to bring true democracy in the state. It said that it will create various Mohalla Sabhas in every ward which will be empowered to take decision on their issues and problems. The party also said that the Mohalla Sabhas will be given money for the same which they can spend accordingly.
- State status to Delhi: Speaking on the half-state stature of Delhi, the party promised to get full rights for the national capital as state. It said that it will bring judiciary and Delhi police under state ambit if it comes to power. The party also said that it will take MCD out of central government’s grasp just like police.
- Other: The party repeated its old promise of reviving the condition Electricity and water supply in the state. It said that it will revise electricity rates and will start competition between private companies for providing their services. It also said that the license of defaulting companies will be quashed. For water problems of Delhi, the AAP promised clean water supply to Delhi by setting up laboratories and water treatment plants.
