Shikhar Dhawan’s Sunrisers are yet to start on a convincing note in this year’s IPL. The Hyderabad side which comprises the likes of Dale Steyn, David Warner, Aaron Finch and Amit Mishra in their ranks; are still winless in their first two games.
In their inaugural season, Hyderabad had reached the playoffs stage but this year, the defeats to Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab have left them rock-bottom of the IPL league table. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan has not been in good touch with the bat even though its early days for the Sunrisers.
SRH have been too over dependent on speedster Dale Steyn to deliver the goods whereas the other bowlers are under performing. And furthermore, the news is not too good for the Hyderabad side. In the past 2 meetings against Delhi Daredevils, Hyderabad have lost both the games.
On the other side, an inconsistent Delhi Daredevils will be boosted by the availability of their star player and skipper, Kevin Pietersen in their side. Their campaign seemed to be affected by the absence of the Englishman who has so far missed all the three matches owing to an injury on his little finger, which he suffered during fielding drills with Surrey.
With a single win in their 3 games, Delhi need to muster up some points if they are to surge a title bid in this IPL season. If ‘KP’ starts, a dual with Dale Steyn will be worth a watch!
