The IPL 2014 champions, Kolkata Knight Riders got off to a best possible start as their foreign recruit, Andre Russell smashed a breathtaking half-century while Dutch all-rounder Ryan ten Doeschate struck a fine unbeaten 51 to guide their team to a seven-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings in a Group A match of the Champions League Twenty20.
Chasing a reasonable target of 158 for a win, KKR were in trouble after slumping to 51 for five inside 10 overs however West Indian Andre Russell and ten Doeschate shared match-winning partnership of 80 runs as KKR romped to victory.
