Ind vs. Aus preview: ‘Sir’ Jadeja prays for no rains

With another wash-out looming large ahead of the 4th ODI at Cuttack, India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja hoped that rains didn’t hamper the match. Team India, which is trailing by 1-2 in the series, face a ‘do-or-die’ situation. If tomorrow’s match also gets abandoned, there will be only two ODIs (Nagpur and Bangalore) left, which India will have to win in order to clinch the series.

Speaking ahead of the match, Jadeja said, “We all want the match to happen as we’re trailing 1-2. There’s not too much pressure as such. If this match doesn’t happen, then we have to win the remaining two matches. The conditions are not in our hands and we can’t do anything about the rain. But we will try our best to win the remaining matches. This is a home series, so we’ll also get help from the conditions in all the venues.”

The weather forecasts have predicted heavy showers but Jadeja insisted that the hosts are mentally prepared to take the field even if it is not a full 100-over game. “It doesn’t look like there will be a match tomorrow. Maybe if it doesn’t rain tonight, we are mentally prepared to play a match, no matter of how many overs it is,” he said.

With the series having its predictable course, bowlers including Jadeja have to pick themselves to win the series against the mighty Oz!
