CLT20: What Mumbai Indians should learn

Rohit Sharma started his regime as the Mumbai Indians’ skipper on the losing side as they went down to fellow IPL team, Rajasthan Royals.

Rohit Sharma started his regime as the Mumbai Indians’ skipper on the losing side as they went down to fellow IPL team, Rajasthan Royals. So as to avoid another defeat, we drum up a list of five points that Sharma and co. should learn for today’s game:

Rohit Sharma should open the batting
The Mumbai Indians skipper got his feet moving when MS Dhoni moved him to the opener’s slot along with southpaw, Shikhar Dhawan. The end result was favorable and Rohit ‘finally’ started scoring runs. So, why not try here too? May be they could bring Sachin Tendulkar down the order.

Give Glenn Maxwell a go!
The ‘million dollar’ man, Glenn Maxwell has not featured in the MI squad yet, but with Dwayne Smith misfiring, Rohit Sharma could bring in the all-rounder. Maxwell is a good batsman down the order and can also provide an option with the ball.

‘Too much’ dependency on Kieron Pollard
When the top order fails to fire, it all comes down to West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard to go all guns blazing! Even though he scored an average 42 in the last game, Pollard needs to play his own game. The likes of Dinesh Karthik and Ambati Rayudu need to step up too.

Pragyan Ojha and Harbhajan Singh need to work as a ‘team’
If Mumbai Indians need to go far in this tournament, their spinners have to play as a team! Only Rohit knows why Ojha bowled a single over in the game against Rajasthan Royals as they were beaten comprehensively. With the likes of Anil Kumble in the team management, Bhajji and Ojha need to learn a trick or two.
