CLT20: Things to watch out for

Before the ball is even bowled, let’s take a look at things that you can definitely look forward to in this tournament:

The mega buck Champions League T20 kicks off with top teams fighting it out to be the number one in T20. Before the ball is even bowled, let’s take a look at things that you can definitely look forward to in this tournament:

Sachin and Dravid bid adieu
The 40-year-old club will be seen for the final time in coloured outfits as both the stalwarts, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid will be playing for the very last time for their IPL teams – Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, respectively. As both the stars bid adieu, can they bring their old (ah, pun!) mojo back to win it for their teams? Only time will tell and till then, enjoy their artistry!

Misbah makes a ‘T20 debut’
The Pakistani Test skipper will also lead his side, Faisalabad Wolves in the T20 tournament qualifiers. The last time Misbah-ul-Haq played a T20 here in India was in the IPL for the Bangalore Royal Challengers in 2008. Misbah’s side also includes spinner Saeed Ajmal and with him in the squad, the Faisalabad Wolves can give tough competition to any top side.

Dhoni’s CSK will play at Ranchi
Chennai’s MS Dhoni will playing a CLT20 game at his hometown Ranchi! Well, what more could the Ranchi fans ask for! Expect a full capacity crowd.

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma’s captaincy
Apart from MS Dhoni and Rahul Dravid as skippers in the tourney, the CLT20 will also see Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma make their debut as captains of their teams (Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians, respectively). The young turks will be leading their sides and it will be good to see the Indian stars in all new avatars!
