The first award ceremony of the year saw stars in glittering gowns and sexy saris. While some walked away with the coveted trophy, others were lauded for their sartorial choices! And as always, some fared better than the rest…we do a quick round up of the best and worst of the Screen Awards 2014. Take a look:

Deepika Padukone:
The lady of the evening, Deepika Padukone, who walked away with most of the awards…goofed up big time in the clothes department. Her black Alexander McQueen gown was lovely, but Deepu didn’t do justice to it at all. Her fierce hair and dark lips were clashing with the gown. And let’s not even get started on her earrings and shoes.

Neha Dhupia
:
Side-swept hair, dreamy white gown and a gold clutch were Dhupia’s trademark at the awards. Her white gown was offset by the pop of her clutch, which was a nice touch. The Dhupia babe never gets her fashion choices wrong, and this time was no different either!

Sonal Chauhan:

We don’t even know where to begin with this gown. To say it’s one of the worst gowns we have seen would not do justice to what we are actually feeling about this peach Amritraj Bora creation. The cheap-looking choker, unflattering hemline and the sheer bodice are just some of the things that are wrong with this outfit.

Swara Bhaskar
:
The powerhouse performer who walked away with an award, also shone bright fashion-wise. Her white Rabani Rakha sari was simple, yet glamorous…earning her brownie points for doing a sari-gown instead of a gown or sari. We also love her no-accessory look!

Chitrangada Singh:

The sexy lady messed up her look by doing ‘meh’ hair and make-up. Her elegant Dior gown would have been the toast of the evening, had she not gone the ‘big hair’ route. Wish she had opted for an updo as the gown is already so overwhelming.

Kajol:

We really like the color on Kajol, but the Shantenu and Nikhil creation is making her look rather fat. Don’t you think? The frill detail, ugly pair of earrings and the awkward fall of her sleeves are making this one of her worst appearances ever. That said, she did look great neck-up.

Sophie Choudhry:

It was refreshing to see Sophie in a sari than her regular gowns. We absolutely loved this vibrant Manish Malhotra sari on her. The bindi, the jhumkas and the elegant hairdo are all in her favour. Love this look!

Aditi Rao Hydari:

We know she was aiming for an Audrey Hepburn-esque look, but her dramatic hair and fierce make-up are marred by her pose. The gown itself is nothing to write home about, the only saving grace being her hair and make-up. She could have done so much better, but alas!
