What should other celebs learn from Amitabh Bachchan?

The superstar has definitely set an example with his recent decision to not promote Pepsi. He said at an event recently that it was a conscious choice to stay away from such brands. Big B had an epiphany moment when a little girl asked him that why is he associated with a brand that her teacher calls ‘poison’. Now that hit the actor’s conscience really bad. Bachchan has since then decided to act responsibly and not promote anything that he himself doesn’t consume. Tobacco and alcohol are a big no-no in the actor’s endorsement list.

I really think all B-town actors should take a cue or two from the veteran actor. Recently even Kangna Ranaut did something similar by refusing to work with a fairness cream giant as she doesn’t believe in such products. She said that even her sister is dusky and that doesn’t make her an ugly person. The actor emphasized that promoting such brands only conveys a very wrong message to the society.

There are many actors, who promote fairness creams and cola brands which are harmful to the health, without any consideration for people’s well-being in general. Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor promote Pepsi and DP is recently seen in one of those Garnier fairness cream ads. This speaks volumes about how responsible a celeb is.

There are industry insiders who think Big B shouldn’t have been so brutal to the brand that he was associated with at one point. Well, if you ask me Kudos to the actor for being so straight forward. Maybe the bigger celebs can take a cue from him and not let that exorbitant moolah change their mind to do something cool for the society…
