2014 seems to be a dhamakedaar year for Juhi Chawla. After bagging a challenging role in Gulaab Gang, the actor is now all set to enter the happening world of Hollywood. She will be seen working on a movie titled The hundred foot journey, which is based on a novel by Richard C Morias.  Chawla will be playing Om Puri’s wife in the film. The movie is produced by Spielberg and is a joint venture him and director Lasse Hallstorm, the filmmaker who’s known for directing hit films like the Johny Depp starrer What’s eating Gilbert Grape and The hypnotist. The film is also co-produced by Oprah Winfrey.

When it comes to the story, it sounds like quite an interesting one. It’s about an Indian couple who open a new Indian restaurant straight opposite a la-di-da French eatery and what ensues after that is a culinary war. Of course there’s a lot more to the tale than spices and gastronomic delights.

This will be Juhi’s first Hollywood film and it seems the actor is in seventh heaven after bagging this offer. While Juhi is new to H-town, Om Puri on the other hand has been a part of many famous English films like City of joy and Wolf.

The Darr actor is definitely going places, and I clearly remember how she once said in an interview that there’s some serious dearth of age-appropriate roles in the film world. Looks like she won’t be complaining anymore…
