Very soon we will get to see the famous magician Protul Chandra Sorcar’s life on celluloid. Since Bollywood is bitten by the biography bug, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the renowned illusionist’s journey has caught the filmi people’s fancy. The film will be directed by Gulaab Gang director Soumik Sen and he has also acquired rights for the same. The director says a well-known star has been finalized for the project but he can’t reveal the name yet. Now that statement definitely calls for some spicy speculation. Here’s who we think can do justice to the magician’s role and wave the wand with super conviction.
Shahrukh Khan: SRK is an expert when it comes to showcasing a great deal of showmanship on screen. Sorcar is known for his larger than life magic tricks and his theatrical body language. King Khan can easily step into the shoes, provided he keeps his hamming under control.
Salman Khan: SK’s attitude is enough to give the character the much needed edge. Sorcar, over the years, along with his famous antics, is also known for his humility. So that’s one area Sallu bhai has to work on, maybe add a tinge of humbleness to his act while he’s busy making Taj Mahal disappear, in the movie of course!
Aamir Khan: It must be still very fresh in Aamir’s mind as he was recently seen in the magician’s avatar in Dhoom:3. But when it comes to someone legendary like PC Sorcar, you obviously don’t want anyone to ruin the onscreen interpretation with over the top antics. Aamir, if he’s roped in for the role, just needs to take it easy, and make it look real rather than jumping around like a monkey and playing with hula hoops, just the way he did in D:3.
Hrihtik Roshan: The actor has already done a fab job as a magician in Guzaarish – his strong and positive onscreen personality was truly the highlight of the film. Roshan if you ask me will be superbly apt for the role. I can also see the hunk pulling of Sorcar’s ‘Clark Gable-style’ moustache with great panache.
