It is raining movies this monsoon!
To add on to the list of exciting projects, here comes another different entertainer in its true sense, Finding Fanny! After making two diverse movies, critically acclaimed Being Cyrus and commercially successful, Cocktail, director Homi Adajania is treading a path he knows very well.
It is not a big budget extravaganza but a small film with its heart in its right place.
The movie boasts of 5 people, three of them are seasoned actors with superlative acting skills having proven their worth in past 30-40years. The master of method acting, Naseeruddin Shah, yesteryears’ sex-symbol Dimple Kapadia and an acting legend, Pankaj Kapoor will be gracing this film with their presence.
Giving them company is the ruling queen of Bollywood, sexy siren Deepika Padukone and the droopy-eyed gorgeous hunk, Arjun Kapoor!

The trailer is looking really funny with these 5 quirky characters who have ventured out to find the love of an old postman’s (Naseeruddin) life. Naseer as an old man, whose love for life is more than his love for his childhood sweetheart, is looking endearing. At the same time, Pankaj Kapur in his lustful designs for the fiery and feisty Dimple Kapadia is absolutely befitting the character of an old despo! As if they were not enough, we have Deepika and Arjun to increase the glamour quotient of the flick. And mind you, they are in their total fun elements with driver-mechanic Arjun shown as playing with a dirty jar of dirty dentures while the virgin-bride-turned-widow Deepika shoving a piece of cloth down Naseer’s mouth to stop him from wailing for his love! There is more but we don’t want to spoil your fun by talking about it here!
This quest to find Stephanie Fernandes is unlike any road journey we have seen in Hindi cinema. Homi does have guts to make once-upon-a-time sex-bomb Dimple look like a fat old lady with a heavy posterior! May be Dimple’s die hard fans will never forgive him for this! However, we love Dimple’s sporting spirit to get into the skin of the character and pull off something like this.
Special mention has to be given for the music. It is catchy, peppy and blends in with the whole Goan mood of fun and party! The cast definitely seems to have had fun making this flick as it clearly shows in their performance. Let’s hope the audience will also enjoy this journey of Finding Fanny!
