Farooq Sheikh passes away at 65 due to heart attack!

The actor suffered a heart attack last night. He was in Dubai, attending a concert. The Bollywood fraternity is shocked and still trying to come to terms with the loss.

The actor suffered a heart attack last night. He was in Dubai, attending a concert. The Bollywood fraternity is shocked and still trying to come to terms with the loss. He was an actor par excellence, never scared of experimenting, never playing to the gallery. When you think Farooq Sheikh, it instantly conjures up images of a gentle looking man with a warm smile. He has carried himself in an amazingly dignified manner all these years; his humble speech and his articulate manner of communicating have always won hearts. Very sophisticated and refined, Sheikh had a good command over Hindi and English. He interviewed practically every Bollywood celeb on his show Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai, and received rave reviews from the audience for his hosting skills.

The actor gained recognition in the Hindi film industry with movies like Shatranj Ke Khiladi, Noorie and of course Chashme Buddoor. He has had the privilege to work with some of the best directors like Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Satyajeet Ray.

The actor was last seen playing Ranbir Kapoor’s doting dad in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. He also did a movie called Club 60 recently along with Sarika. When you think of classics, Chashme Buddoor is truly one of them. The movie cannot be replaced by any remake and Sheikh’s character is etched in the pages of Bollywood history. He played a bachelor in the movie, who falls head over heels in love with Deepti Naval, trying to win her heart in his own charming way.

The actor is survived by wife Rupa Jain and two daughters Sana and Shaista. He has left an indelible mark in the world of movies, theatre and parallel cinema. May this wonderful actor’s soul rest in peace!
