The teaser promo of the most expensive song in Dhoom:3 is out. And yes, the makers have spent a whopping Rs 5 crore on the number. If you ask me, look and feel-wise the song is like this fabulous fantasy world full of glittering dancers and gorgeous faces. But the melody and lyrics are so run-of-the-mill. There’s no dearth of songs in B-town that have given the Sufi touch and Arabic flavour to their ditties. Malang just sounds very familiar, in a boring way.
What makes the song so expensive? It seems the makers of the film made sure they use professional gymnasts as background dancers, which is why 200 people were flown in from USA. The song was shot in Reliance Studios. Even the fancy costumes in the song have been ordered from the States.
The whole song has this very carnival kinda feel – from the dancers in colourful clothes to the lead actors showing their aerial antics on gymnastic rings. Katrina is seen wearing a typical Arab style belly dancing costume and Aamir – the ultimate gymnastic showman- is impressing with his tight six pack abs; he is seen sporting a leather cuff, boots and leg-hugging pants –his look is almost similar to that of a funky cowboy’s, never mind, just the hat is missing.
As Aamir and Kat twist and turn in the air, you tell us if this is one track you will play on loop or not play at all!
