First Kareena Kapoor, then Shruti Haasan: Are Bollywood heroines really safe?

Recently Kareena Kapoor and Shruti Haasan have had to deal with a painful experience.

When you see Kareena Kapoor endorsing the new VithU app on TV, an app designed especially for women when they are in serious trouble, you know that she’s not pulling any punches. The fear on her face is genuine. When she says that despite being a celeb she’s constantly under a shadow of fear that something might go wrong, you really want to believe every word she says.

And imagine if movie stars, inspite of being protected by beefy body guards, feel this way, what about girls who are out there on the roads, travelling and coming across all sorts of maniacs on their way.

Recently Kareena Kapoor and Shruti Haasan have had to deal with a painful experience. It seems a deranged stalker has been harassing the D-day babe for quite a while now. He has been following her on her sets while she’s shooting, and the recent news is that he even tried to enter her flat when Shruti, thankfully got all alert, and banged the door on his face. She has been staying with her friends after this horrific incident.

While Shruti is still recuperating from the shock, Kareena Kapoor had to go through the ordeal of dealing with an uncontrollable crowd. She was in Jaipur recently with co-star Imran Khan promoting her new film Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, when the mob went frantic, leaving Bebo in tears. It was only after the security got control of the situation, Kareena was escorted to her car safely.

This is not the first time B-town gals have had to face such unpleasant situations. Asin was once groped by a pervert while she was out there for a film event. A long back a maniac tried to touch Bipasha Basu in an indecent way, at a social do, right in the presence of her ex-beau John Abraham.

Wonder if women can ever completely ‘be safe’ and ‘feel safe’…
