Too many similarities between Shahid’s Phata Poster and Ranbir’s Besharam. Too much of a co-incidence?
Bollywood is once again buzzing with some masala-packed movies and Shahid’s ‘Phata Poster… ‘and Ranbir’s ‘Besharam’ make a fine example. While both youngsters are ready with their commercial releases and have been spotted promoting the movies aggressively, we have noticed too many similarities in the look and feel of their projects after watching the promos and songs. Do you also feel the same? Check out some of pointers we observed and tell us if it also makes you wonder.
Tapori approach: Ranbir and Shahid have proven their acting skills in many successful movies and have often donned different looks. But this time writers of the movies seem to have had the same thought wave and have casted their leads in a Tapori-type role. Now Ranbir has already given us a sneak-peek of his tapori-ness in the song ‘Tai Tai Phis’ but for Shahid this will be the first time when his character will have shades of a Mumbai local speaking in colloquial terms .
Action scene: When the first look of the movie came out no doubt it looked intriguing but we couldn’t help but notice that ‘jumping on the rooftop of the car’ sequence. It got many critics riled up and fans blamed each other for the rip-off. Too much of a coincidence right?
Conning: In Phata Poster…Shahid will be seen conning the people around him and especially his mother about being a police man when actually he wants to be an actor. On the other hand, Ranbir in Besharam is a mechanic by profession but takes up conning as a hobby.
Aare Aare v/s Tu mere agal bagal: Both the songs from the respective movies are sung by Mika. While Agal Bagal has been gaining popularity for Shaihd’s cute dance moves and Mika’s quirky style of singing, Aare Aare of Ranbir failed to impress the masses.
Fresh pairing: Another similarity that cropped in our list is the fact that both these actors will be seen romancing new comers. While Ileana is only one-film old after doing Barfi, Pallavi Sharda is a complete new comer and for the first time will be facing camera opposite Ranbir Kapoor. The Kapoor lad is known for working with newbies after working with Nargis Fakhri in Rockstar, Ileana in Barfi. So we think Pallavi is in safe hands there!
Shahid’s comeback v/s Ranbir’s success run: After achieving success by playing exceptional roles in Rockstar, Barfi and recently Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani Ranbir seems to be on a roll. But unfortunately luck hasn’t much favoured our other Kapur boy and Phata Poster could be a ‘make-it-or-break-it’ kind of a situation for Shahid. The movie could prove to his comeback if manages to fare well at the box office.
