Rahul Khanna Takes Up Some Interesting Television Work!

Very rarely you see Rahul Khanna making an appearance on TV or films, and when he does, girls drool…like literally. Khanna was last seen playing the hot and smart editor of a magazine in Wake Up Sid. Wish he was offered more such roles that would capture his charm perfectly on the big screen. But looks like films aren’t his thing anymore, or I should rather say that he doesn’t have the time for them.

For all the Rahul Khanna fans out there, the dishy actor has been offered quite a meaty role in a US based prime time show called The Americans. Set in the Cold War era of the ‘80s, the story it seems revolves around two KGB agents. RK will be seen stepping into the shoes of a Pakistani intelligence officer called Yousaf. He is Oxford educated and a well-read dude, and the twist in the story arrives when the KGB guys discover that Yousaf has some information which is obviously of some interest to them.

The show is created by Joe Weisberg who was a CIA agent himself. So expect ‘The Americans’ to have a hint of reality. Regarding this interesting offer, Khanna also wrote that he never imagined that espionage would be this interesting. I wonder how many of us can actually say this about Indian television/films. Rahul has also done a teeny-weeny role in Anil Kapoor’s 24.

With RK giving his nod to the English show, Indian telly show makers should really try and introduce some quality shows on TV. At least that would make our actors show some interest for the stuff we create for the tube…
