We have been through many odds and happy encounters, so of course we have mixed feelings about it. Like every year, 2017 was also a sum of experiences that helped us grow and have a tighter grip on life. We, as mature human beings should strive to become a better version of us with every passing day and take all the hardships in our stride and grow through them. Disappointments were saddening as they come and there have been some downright crappy things that we have been faced with in this year. While these things rattled us, there are somethings we learned from the experiences too.</p>
<p><strong>Those people that had a bitter break-up:</p>
<p></strong></p>
<p>There have been boyfriends who were not for keeps so we had to bid adieu to them no matter how painful it was in the first place. Then there are people, who had seen the uglier side of this reality having been engaged with them, planned down even having paid for the wedding décor only to find he was a fuckboy of sorts. But what compensated the most to tide over this was food.</p>
<p>Lesson learned: Food is a keeper and the best healer. It is to stay even in your toughest of time.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-59972" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/1-71-399x400.jpg" alt="" width="399" height="400" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/1-71-399x400.jpg 399w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/1-71.jpg 500w" sizes="(max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px" /></p>
<p><strong>We misjudged people:</strong></p>
<p>Some people are here to stay and some will show seasonal love. After all, the masks will fall off in the turn of time and you will know you invested all your energy on them in vain. But there are people who you misjudged, turned out to be your mainstay, only to leave you amazed.</p>
<p>Lesson learned: People who show their true colours to you, don’t give them another chance to convert themselves because they will suck at it again and you have no time for that. Meanwhile, make sure not to misjudge the good lot.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-59973" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/2-73-310x400.jpg" alt="" width="310" height="400" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/2-73-310x400.jpg 310w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/2-73-465x600.jpg 465w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/2-73.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 310px) 100vw, 310px" /></p>
<p><strong>Selling the soul for the killer body:</strong></p>
<p>Many of joined the fitness bandwagon and whose boundaries are always are being pushed. With myriad 30 day challenges mobile apps lurking there, we went berserk to achieve the fitness goals in the shorter span of time thereby draining ourselves both mentally and physically. That is to say, waking up in the wee hours of morning to workout after not eight hours of sufficient sleep didn’t yield the desired results, but obviously.</p>
<p>Lesson learned: Patience is the key to success, not shortcuts.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-59974" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/3-74-400x400.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="400" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/3-74-400x400.jpg 400w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/3-74.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p><strong>Comfort zones crippled us sneakily:</strong></p>
<p>We were too bummed to break free the comfort zone which only paralysed us. There have been opportunities that came and went but we played the onlookers. One thing is for sure, the opportunities are never to return again and we will be watching Netflix until the end of our days.</p>
<p>Lesson learned: Seize the opportunity and kick some serious ass. Getting stuck in the comfort zone is like setting the house on fire and watching it burn.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-59975" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/4-73-660x383.jpg" alt="" width="465" height="270" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/4-73-660x383.jpg 660w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/4-73-768x445.jpg 768w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/4-73.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 465px) 100vw, 465px" /></p>
<p><strong>We are okay to be confused:</strong></p>
<p>Because our previous plans never worked out, that doesn’t mean we should not plan in future. We grow from our failures only if we learn from those. So what if we did not get engaged to the person we love? that Greece honeymoon didn’t materialize? We ended up realizing our life sucks? This confusion will give you the power to overcome the phase. Your mind is in chaos now but it will be soothed with time.</p>
<p>Lesson learned: Confusions are normal and very much human, try to run towards the light that awaits you at the end of the tunnel.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-59976" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/5-71-404x400.jpg" alt="" width="404" height="400" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/5-71-404x400.jpg 404w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/5-71-606x600.jpg 606w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/5-71.jpg 610w" sizes="(max-width: 404px) 100vw, 404px" /></p>
<p>So, Happy New Year in advance, peeps!</p>

It will show us a new life, and will demand newer proceeds!</p>
<p>Are we all set to step into a fresh start with energized enthusiasm and pronounced confidence?</p>
<p>Well, for the youth the demands are raising and the expectations are soaring. More than anyone else expecting from the youth, they have a lot of expectations from self, first and foremost. To meet all those demands, it is imperative that the youth must possess a few traits, which will help them to take the world in their stride and build unprecedented success for themselves.</p>
<p>These are the 10 most important traits that you need to cultivate to be identified as a confident youth in 2016!</p>
<ol>
<li><strong> Never Make Excuses</strong></li>
</ol>
<p>If you wish to achieve, you will have to put the excuses on bay. If you can accomplish a task, get down to it. If you cannot, leave and make way for someone else to take it up. Do not sit there making excuses.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/nevermakeexcuses.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-39328" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/nevermakeexcuses.jpg" alt="nevermakeexcuses" width="600" height="400" /></a></p>

I arrived at this conclusion some time ago and maintain that same notion even today because people, for some unknown reason, choose to watch the crappiest films making them superhit.</p>
<p>Those days no longer exist when ten movies released in a span of two months. And those movies were good. They made sense. Nowadays, however, it is about a film making a ton of money over the weekend or it is declared a flop.</p>
<p>Directors of Indian films have realised that and everyone wants to savour their own share now, don’t they? They invest huge sums in production, hire the most popular actors and make CGI a part of the shoot.</p>
<p>Did I miss something?</p>
<p>Of course, THE SCRIPT!!!</p>
<p>Now, where is that?</p>
<p>Bollywood is no longer the same industry that it was a couple of decades ago. Something by the name “100-crore club” has become quite popular (&#8230;and infamous if you don’t mind me saying).</p>
<p>Even before a film’s trailer is out, the casting, more often than not, decides whether or not it will make 100 crores at the box-office.</p>
<p>R. Murugadoss’s Ghajini was the first film to accomplish this milestone. Although it was not a bad film (considering it had an adapted concept), some of the movies that entered this (un)popular club later were total disasters.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, <strong>Dhoom 3</strong> is one of the movies to feature in this category. Unfortunate because the movie is so bad that it made no sense and yet ended up making over 500 crores at the box-office. Also, Dhoom is the highest grossing film series in Bollywood.</p>

<p>Shah Rukh Khan’s two worst films belong to the years 2013 and 2014 when he starred in <strong>Chennai Express</strong> and <strong>Happy New Year</strong>, respectively. The films earned 542 crores and 383 crores respectively. Both movies come from Shah Rukh’s own production house <strong>Red Chillies Entertainment</strong>. Where Rohit Shetty, the director, failed the South Indian (especially Tamilian) audience by sticking to the stereotypes with Chennai Express, the latter film was loosely based on Hollywood successful film Ocean’s Eleven.</p>
<div id="attachment_26341" style="width: 610px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/happy-new-year.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img aria-describedby="caption-attachment-26341" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-26341" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/happy-new-year.jpg" alt="Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year made 383 crores" width="600" height="370" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/happy-new-year.jpg 456w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/happy-new-year-95x60.jpg 95w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a><p id="caption-attachment-26341" class="wp-caption-text">Shah Rukh Khan&#8217;s Happy New Year made 383 crores</p></div>
<p>Salman Khan is no stranger when it comes to the 100-crore club. He started off with Dabangg in 2010 and has never stopped since. His films <strong>Ready</strong>, <strong>Bodyguard</strong>, <strong>Ek Tha Tiger</strong>, <strong>Dabangg 2</strong>, <strong>Jai Ho</strong> and <strong>Kick</strong> have all crossed the 100-crore ‘barrier’. Though the first <strong>Dabangg</strong> movie did make a bit of sense, other movies were just too hard to watch. Yet, their overall income outdid the production costs bringing the director and the production houses massive profits.</p>
<div id="attachment_26339" style="width: 610px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/dabangg-2.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img aria-describedby="caption-attachment-26339" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-26339" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/dabangg-2.jpg" alt="Most of Salman Khan's recent films have crossed the 100 crore barrier" width="600" height="450" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/dabangg-2.jpg 1280w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/dabangg-2-533x400.jpg 533w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/dabangg-2-800x600.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a><p id="caption-attachment-26339" class="wp-caption-text">Most of Salman Khan&#8217;s recent films have crossed the 100 crore barrier</p></div>
<p><strong>Bang Bang!</strong> the Hrithik Roshan-Katrina Kaif starrer too got added to the 100-crore category despite receiving mixed reviews from critics. It was an action-packed “entertainer” that was an evident remake of the Hollywood hit ‘<strong>Knight and Day</strong>’ starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. Subhash K. Jha, renowned movie critic, even said, “Bang Bang gets the boredom quotient bang-on”. And the irony of it all was that it released on 2nd October, Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday (a preacher of non-violence).</p>
<div id="attachment_26340" style="width: 610px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/bang-bang.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img aria-describedby="caption-attachment-26340" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-26340" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/bang-bang.jpg" alt="Bang Bang! starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif entered the 100 crore club, too" width="600" height="289" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/bang-bang.jpg 2048w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/bang-bang-660x318.jpg 660w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/bang-bang-1000x481.jpg 1000w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a><p id="caption-attachment-26340" class="wp-caption-text">Bang Bang! starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif entered the 100 crore club, too</p></div>
<p>What this list tells us that many films with budget of 100 crore rupees do not have a strong content. Their main objective is to recompense their expenses and earn profits.</p>
<p>The modern times have seen remarkable films that did not get the desired recognition. Films like <strong>Mastram</strong>, <strong>Filmistaan</strong> and <strong>Sulemaani Keeda</strong>, to name a few, had exceptional content that the Indian audience would have connected with and liked.</p>
<p>However, it is the fancy trend that catches the eye of the current public. Throw in an item number with a renowned female star and the movie makes more money.</p>
<p>Lack of original script, a result of which is Hollywood adaptation of movies, is affecting Bollywood adversely (&#8230;or at least the section of audience that cares for good screenplay). Alas! It will only be in time that we know if Bollywood directors are capable of making sensible flicks or if they decide to stick to their intention of material gains.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s Bollywood for you people!</p>
