Props Used In Movies – Whenever I watch a movie & I see actors using certain props & equipment’s, once the movie ends, I always take one question along with me on my way back home. The question is, “What happens to the props & equipments once the movie is done?” Like seriously, where the hell are they kept? Does celebs take them? Or are they throw away? I know, I’m NOT the only one who has ever had this question running through mind.

So to find out where they end up, I did a little research.

I came to find out that a lot happens with the props once the movie ends.

• Ken Miyamoto on Quora said “This is generally a big stage or warehouse on lot that contains a variety of movie props that are utilized over and over in various different films and have been for decades.”

So yes, the props are stored in studio’s wardrobe department & are reused if needed later in the production. Just imagine studio’s warehouse filled with so many props. It is been said that some props are kept on display so that others might come & have a look. Some are auctioned & people seriously buy them at any cost. Sometimes, Celebs take them too.

Many pieces get shelved in warehouses and eventually rented out. Bollywood Items That Were Auctioned – Our Bollywood industry is popular, not just for its movies and awards, but there are others things that make equal noise too. From movie dialogues to item songs to the costumes actors/actresses are wearing, everything is given a maximum attention.

Especially, when it comes to the costumes worn by our Bollywood celebs, some fans certainly go crazy to try them out. And if someone is a die-hard Bollywood fan, then even simple things used in movies becomes “special”. Some fans are so obsessed with the things used by their favorite stars, that they’re ready to do anything to own that item.

That’s the reason when Bollywood items used by celebs were sold at auctions, some fans didn’t think twice and paid a huge amount just to buy them.

1. Aamir Khan’s bat from Lagaan

Remember the bat used by Aamir Khan in the hit movie “Lagaan”? if you’ve seen the movie, then it’s certainly impossible to forget. No doubt, the movie was a hit, but other than that, the bat used by Aamir became hit too. The bat was later signed by Aamir Khan and the entire team and was auctioned at Rs. 1, 56, 000.

The money was donated to a charitable cause.

2. Priyanka Chopra’s Autographed Dress

A dress worn by gorgeous Priyanka Chopra was so attractive that it was sold too. Her autographed Galvin Maguel dress was actually auctioned in a chat show hosted by Farah Khan.

PeeCee’s fan, Nitin Jain, paid Rs. 50, 000 and the takings were then donated to the charity.

3. Priyanka Chopra’s Heels

One has to admit, that Priyanka Chopra’s fan following is very big. Not just a dress, but the Christian Louboutin heels were auctioned for 2.5 Lakhs for UNICEF’s “Save the girl campaign”.

4. Madhuri Dixit’s Lehenga

Remember the Lehenga worn by Madhuri Dixit in “Maar Dala” song? Undoubtedly, the costume was truly stunning and it was created beautifully. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas was certainly a hit, but the Lehenga grabbed equal attention. It was later auctioned and was sold for Rs. 3 Crore.

5. Madhuri Dixit’s Saree

It seems like the costumes Madhuri Dixit wears becomes hit. No doubt, the saree she wore in “Dhak Dhak Karne Laga” song was stunning. People were so attracted to that particular saree that it was later auctioned for a charitable cause for Rs. 80, 000.

6. Shammi Kapoor’s Jacket

Bollywood celebs can be a fan of other Bollywood stars too, right? At the Osian’s Cinefan auction in 2012, Aamir Khan bid on a jacket worn by late actor Shammi Kapoor in “Junglee”.

It was sold for 88, 000.

7. Salman Khan’s Towel

Yes, towel. Who knew that a simple towel will grab so much attention? Undeniably, Salman Khan’s dance from “Jeene Ke Hai Char Din” from the movie “Mujhse Shaadi Karoge” was a hit. But, remember the towel he used? Yes, it was auctioned by an online portal in 2009 and it was sold for Rs 1, 42, 000.

The funds were then raised for an NGO.
