Could These Sports Stars Make A Comeback As Well?

Former England captain David Beckham has given a sensational hint that he could make a return as a professional player very soon.

Former England captain David Beckham has given a sensational hint that he could make a return as a professional player very soon. Talking on a BBC documentary, the 39-year was quoted as saying, “I want to be back in the game then and I start thinking to myself, ‘Could I play again? Could I go back? Could I come out of retirement and start playing again? There’s never been a player-owner, but maybe?” said the former Manchester United, Real Madrid, Los Angeles Galaxy and AC Milan player.

Given that, there have been other players as well, who are enjoying life away from the sporting field. Here’s a list of retired sports stars who we think should come out of retirement as well. Take a look:

Sachin Tendulkar (Cricket)
Ever since he called time on his cricketing career, ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar is seen spending time with his family, some charity work, brand promotions and attending gala events. So after 20 years dedicated to the sport he loved, isn’t he missing it already? Without him, the Indian cricket team has struggled off late as well as his IPL team, Mumbai Indians which lost 5 games in a row. It’s time Sachin made a comeback and picked up his bat to pulverize the opposition attack. Sachin ala re!

Mark Webber (Formula One)
After calling time on his career during the 2012-13 F1 season, former Red Bull racing driver Mark Webber is enjoying is life away from the fast lane. Once a partner to F1 World Champion, Sebastian Vettel, Mark Webber is seen spending his leisure doing commentary. May be the F1 circuit is a bit ‘empty’ without his services on the track and perhaps, Webber is needed to fuel some fire on the F1 road.

Rahul Dravid (Cricket)
Perhaps Team India wants to see more of ‘The Wall’ aka Rahul Dravid. The Bangalore-born who hung up his boots from professional cricket last year, is now mentoring his IPL team, Rajasthan Royals. But that said, Team India still requires the services of Dravid on the cricketing field even though we have the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara in the squad. This ‘Wall’ is not meant to be broken, just yet!

Bhaichung Bhutia (Football)
He might be serving the nation from off the football field, but former India skipper Bhaichung Bhutia was a revelation on it too. He has been the face of Indian football for over many years and has represented our country on foreign soil. Since his retirement, Bhutia is now serving as a politician but perhaps we still haven’t gotten over his footballing days. Come on Bhutia, one LAST TIME!

Sir Alex Fergurson (Football)
After delivering repeated successes over the years at Manchester United, Sir Alex Fergurson called time on his managing career in 2013. One of the big names in the world of football, Sir Alex has catapulted Manchester United to the numero uno position. Sadly though, the Red Devils couldn’t do much as they faltered in the following season as well as saw the sacking of Sir Alex’s successor, David Moyes. So what if Sir Alex changes his mind and does a turnaround?

With time on their side, these international stars have given their all to the sport over the years. But there’s always ‘one more time’ and we think, the above stars could make a surprise return to the field they loved and admired so much.
