LG G3: The Smartphone With Best Screen And Auto Focus Camera For Best Selfie

The highest resolution screen and great camera specs, LG G3 is the latest offering from LG, which is likely to rival with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z2, and other smartphones in the high-end segment.

After much wait and speculation, LG has finally launched its new flagship, the LG G3, on 27th May 2014, at simultaneous events in New York, London, and San Francisco.

With a June availability window in Europe, the South Korean giant is all set to roll out to retail at its native country first, followed by launches throughout the globe in phases. The expected launch of LG G3 in India is July 2014.

Packaged in a lightweight metallic skin casing, LG G3 is available in shades of Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Moon Violet, and Burgundy Red. With dimensions of 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9mm, the handset weighs 149 gms.

Flaunting a 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS LCD screen, with an incredible pixel resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, and a staggering 538 ppi pixel density, the Smartphone runs Android 4.4.2 Kitkat, overlaid with LG’s patented Optimus UI. The tech giant states that the handset ships with a completely new custom UI, dubbed as ‘simple flat GUI,’ which boasts of a flatter, circular, and less bright interface with minimalistic designs,  light typesetting, and app grouping. 

The phone also boasts of new features, such as, Smart Notice, which provides suggestions and reminders based on phone location and usage patterns. Then there is the Smart Keyboard which strives to minimize thumb and eye movement, ensures quick typing, and reduces input errors by up to 75%. The Smart Security feature comprises Content Lock, Knock Code unlock method, and Kill Switch remote device manager. Powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, the device holds 2 GB of RAM for the 16 GB variant and 3GB of RAM for 32GB variant. Other LG G3 features include 1-watt speaker with Boost Amp and a Quick Circle Case encompassing 6 apps – call log, dialler, music player, messages, clock, and shortcuts to settings. The interesting functionality of this optional case is that users can access the phone without even opening the case.

Loaded with a 13 MP rear end camera, the phone boasts of laser autofocus, OIS+, and dual-LED flash features. The manufacturer claims that the laser autofocusing sensor enables the camera to focus in 0.276 seconds, which is faster than a blink of the human eye. Embedded at the front, is a humble 2.1 MP camera which allows users to click images based on their off-screen gestures and grants time to pose for the perfect selfie.  

Available in two variants – 16 GB and 32 GB, the handset houses a microSD slot for storage expansion up to 128 GB. Connectivity options offered by the smartphone include Wi-Fi 802.11, Micro-USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, SlimPort, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, and 4G LTE. Packing a 3,000 mAh removable battery, the phone offers wireless charging support to its users.

From a scintillating screen, to awesome camera features, and loads of other amazing LG G3 specs, the smartphone is undoubtedly a premium device.  However, the price of LG G3 in India is not yet available.
