What Do You Know About The Richness Of The “Lungs Of The Earth?

lungs of the earth 1

When defining the richness of the Lungs of the Earth points at the area covered by the rainforest of the Amazon. It covers about 3% of the entire land area of the earth moderately to intensely dense due to the trees and plants.  Not only is the densely covering of the areas limited to the trees but also the animals living in. The world’s most poisonous frog the known as the dart frog is here, it is the tiniest and deadly at the same time.

If bitten once can kill any creature, it is present in the forests of Amazon. Above all this forest works as the life to the earth with the highest provider of rain and oxygen together.

20 percent of oxygen is given by the Lungs of the Earth

The dense coverage of plants and trees works as a producer of the pure air and oxygen in the forest. About 40,000 species of the plants are present apart from being the home of many animals, birds, reptiles, and water bodies.

As there are new growing plants each day but along it, about 137 different species of plants die each day. The productions of oxygen from the plants are maintained while the growth of the plants is supported by the fertile soil and the rain.

The Amazon rainforest provides rainfall of 200mm per month. The Wettest months are March and April giving the highest rainwater to the earth. The maximum requirement of pure air, water for the earth is given by this forest. It is unbelievably green with a separate world inside the forest restricting the rays of the sun to enter deep inside the forest. When there are deforestation and soil erosion worldwide it is helping the earth to survive with its natural resources.

Spreads to 34 percent of Earth’s surface

This forest covers 34 percent of the earth’s surface stretching over nine countries. Mostly whenever there is the topic of the Amazon rainforest it covers the maximum of 58 percent in Brazil. It also spreads over the southern American region, Peru, Columbia, Ecuador, Guyana, Bolivia, Guinea, Venezuela, and Suriname.

Altogether these countries share dense forests with plants and trees. This green forest acts as one of the ways to support the mechanism of the natural supply of sources to the earth.

The black forest floor of the Lungs of the Earth

Though the rainforest has the strength to fulfill the maximum air and water for the earth to survive. The sun rays entering to the forest in just 1-2 percent which keeps the floor or the ground of the forest dark even in the daytime. The massive spread of branches of huge trees acts like the canopy restricts the sun to fall on the floor or bed of the soil. But along the river bedside, the plants can receive a good supply of sun rays due to the break of the large canopies of the trees.

Decompositions of soil provide nutrition to the trees and other predators. Fungi are developed in the areas due to lack of sunshine.

Photosynthesis is possible due to the sunshine absorbed by the tropical forest 365 days from the sun. This is the reason that the lungs of the earth contain the approx 10 percent of worldwide plants.
