The marriage of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie which just took place in France. It is surprising since they both are living together for such a long time with as many as six kids. What was the need to get married?
It is no surprise that eventually Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have got married in a small chapel at Chateau Miraval in France.
They were supposed to!
Good news, huh?
Well, in a way yes and in a way, whatever!
The real question is: Why did they get married?
The reason we are asking is that they really didn’t have to.
First of all, both had walked down that path which eventually resulted in parting ways with their former partners and not all in an amicable way. Brad Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston for five years before divorcing her in 2005. Angelina has had two marriages, one in late 1990’s with British actor Jonny Lee Miller for three years and second with Billy Bob Thornton which ended in 2003, again after only three years!
Secondly, they are in a relationship for past 9 years, have got 6 kids. If this is not called commitment and family, then what is?
In today’s age and times when live-ins are more common, love-affairs are more or less a passing fad and marriages are breaking up faster than the blinking of an eye, the whole concept of marriage is being questioned by the youth across the world.
For people who are seriously looking for love and commitment, Brangelina were a perfect example of a couple staying with each other through thick and thin, producing three of their own babies and adopting three kids from different countries. After looking at their lives, this marriage ceremony looks more like a paper ceremony, as if one needs the stamp of the society more than real stuff to hold two people together in a relationship!
In one of the interviews, Angelina mentioned that it is their kids’ idea that they should get married. That too because the children saw movies where couples get married or they have friends in school whose parents are married so they asked Brad and Angie to tie the knot. How about explaining to the innocent kids that what their parents share as a couple is much much more than what an average marriage can ever provide for!
Guess another set of parents bowed down in front of their kids’ demands! Only in this case, it wasn’t giving in to their demand for a toy or a meal but about getting freaking married!
We are not opposed to the idea of marriage; it is of course a beautiful concept.
However, it is more about the love and bond that keeps two souls together rather than the rules of the society which are sometimes un-necessarily binding. In that context, we feel Brad and Angelina should have carried on the way they were living.
