Sometimes we tend to go a bit overboard with our eating habits and eat various kinds of foods that unhealthy and not preferable for the diet.

Sometimes we tend to go a bit overboard with our eating habits and eat various kinds of foods that unhealthy and not preferable for the diet. Without the help of a dietician or a nutritionist, we do not know what should be served on our plate. Well, if you don’t then here is the answer. Here are the different types of foods that should be included in our diet, and exactly in how many proportions we should eat them in to have a well balanced and healthy diet. Take a look:

Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables
It’s that kind of food which the doctor ordered! Including fruits and vegetables in your diet helps tackle diseases and keeps body healthy and immune to harmful germs. Also, with them, your body weight is in check and in no way, the calories or the flab rate could go up. So, avoid those pizzas and burgers and instead turn to plenty of fruits (oranges, apples etc) and vegetables instead!

Include bread, rice, pasta and other starchy foods
It’s a must to include wholegrain varieties in your diet. Include potatoes with their skins as it includes more fibre. There are other varieties too with the likes of pasta, bread, rice etc making the cut in this pool.

Milk and dairy foods
Then there is milk and other dairy products that are also a part of the dietary function of your body. The likes of curd, buttermilk, cheese, cottage cheese etc are the ones that are part of this group.

Meat, fish, eggs and beans
If the likes of fruits and veggies can give you that extra push in the energy column well the likes of meat, fish etc are not too far behind. The likes of fish and eggs are important sources of proteins, vitamins and minerals, and form part of a healthy balanced diet.

Drinks and foods with high sugar content
They might high in proteins and carbohydrates but the likes of chocolates, cakes etc are high on fat and sugar levels. They add to calories in the body and by only eating fewer sweets, cakes and biscuits, and drinking fewer sugary soft drinks, could help one to reduce weight and maintain a proper body shape.

If one is to maintain a good body shape, it’s a good idea to try to get this balance right every day, but you don’t need to do it at every meal. Eating healthy is about eating the right amount of food for your body needs energy.
