Will Moyes’ men bounce back after the derby defeat?

“I will fix it. I will turn it round. I have no doubt about that.” These were the words of the current Manchester United manager who saw his side triumph over rivals, Liverpool that had the returning Luis Suarez, with a 1-0 win.

“I will fix it. I will turn it round. I have no doubt about that.” These were the words of the current Manchester United manager who saw his side triumph over rivals, Liverpool that had the returning Luis Suarez, with a 1-0 win. Just a week ago, David Moyes felt the heat of being in charge of Europe’s most elite clubs when they were drubbed 4-1 by rivals Manchester City. As fixtures are coming in thick and dry, Moyes faces a daunting task of keeping his side in the title run. Besides, the Red Devils also have to play the UEFA Champions League, a tourney that is of utmost importance to many of its fans. On Saturday, West Bromwich Albion visit Old Trafford and its time Moyes showed the United faithful that he and his men meant business.

Even though many Manchester United fans think that their team still can compete for the numero uno spot, some remain doubtful. A lifelong Red Devils fan Praneet Salian said, “We were never favourites since we are defending the title. We are always in with a chance as to retaining the title with the same team as last year and add a couple of additions.” Praneet’s heart went out to Moyes on the derby mauling and he said, “He already bounced (win against Liverpool). It’s still early days of the season for him people and he still trying to get things right. As of now, he’s done a decent job till.”

Moyes recevied further boost when ex-MUFC goalkeeper, Peter Schmeichel voiced his support to the new manager. Schmeichel, who has appeared 292 times under legendary Sir Alex Ferguson said  that Moyes was always going to face a rocky initiation but believed the former Everton boss will take club in the right direction.

With the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspurs and Arsenal refuelling their squad in the summer transfer window, it looks like this year’s BPL will be a close knitty affair. Alastair Vaz, an Arsenal fan says, “This year it will be very tough for United.” Become what may, David Moyes has sat on the ‘hot seat’ that says ‘DELIVER’! Will he, only time will tell.
