How To Find The Right Life Partner In An Arranged Marriage

Even the mere idea of an ‘arranged’ marriage is scary to youngsters. They have this fear of ending up with the wrong person, and rightly so. Because how can a match arranged by the parents make the bride and groom fall in love? Well, it has worked out fine for our parents and might work out for us too…

Here are some ways to find the right life partner in an arranged marriage set-up. Read on:

Digital framework:
Before settling for THE one, do a thorough digital background of him/her. With social networking sites keeping a tab of our everyday movement and showing the world our pictures, status updates, likes and dislikes, it’s easy to know the kind of person we are. If you feel that you and your prospective spouse have certain things in common, you can be certain about having a topic to converse about. In fact, it would be easier to find out what they would like for birthdays, special occasions and dates just by going through their profiles.

Nice to others:
Does he/she treat those from the lower rung of the society with love and respect? Is he/she generous with his/her thank yous and sorrys? Does he/she take time to appreciate the little things in life or is obsessed about the never ending rat race? It’s not enough to be nice to you, but to others too. And anybody who treats the waiter, watchman, driver and the rest will love is a keeper. That really reflects your upbringing and culture.

Hardworking and dedicated:
It doesn’t matter if he/she is rich or not, what’s more important is that he/she should be hardworking, dedicated and true to his work. That’s what will tell you if he/she will stay loyal and true to you for life. Somebody who is not dedicated to his craft and slacks off is not worth your time and energy. But that doesn’t mean that you marry a workaholic who has no time for family and social obligations.

Adventurous and fun loving:
Someone raring to explore and travel the extra mile will make for a good spouse. He/she should love exploring, living it up, eating and meeting different things (!). A boring and stoic person will make your life uninteresting, especially if you’re an adrenaline-junkie. So choose wisely!

More than all of the above points, he/she should respect you and your decisions. Be there for you through every problem and support even the wackiest of ideas.
