Hyundai 1.0 Kappa Eon Magna+: Price Tag of 3.83 Lakhs Only ‘“ It is Made Just for You!

Hyundai launched the 1.0-Kappa Eon Magna+ in the first week of May 2014. We bring for our readers a detailed review on the said car.

In an attempt to compete with the much talked about Datsun Go, Hyundai Motor India Limited launched the Hyundai 1.0 Kappa Eon Magna+ early this month.

As the name suggests, the Eon Magna model will now don a 1.0-litre engine. Hyundai will continue selling the prevalent Eon with the 0.8-litre engine, which is about Rs. 25,000 cheaper than the new model.

The Eon is already generating good sales for the South Korean car manufacturer. With the 1.0 Kappa engine, we expect it to do even better in the Indian hatchback market.

Design, Exteriors, & Interiors:

The Hyundai 1.0 Kappa Eon Magna+ Exteriors, as well as the Hyundai 1.0 Kappa Eon Magna+ Interiors resemble the earlier version, though there are a few exceptions. The car manufacturer has removed the airbag, internally adjustable wing mirrors, and the music system from the new 1.0L version.

A few of the standard Hyundai 1.0 Kappa Eon Magna+ features include air conditioner with heating, engine immobilizer, power steering, central locking, front power windows, 13-inch wheels, full wheel covers, and more.

The car comes in 6 tempting shades – Coral White, Ember Grey, Sleek Silver, Pristine Blue, Mushroom, and Maharajah Red.

For easy identification, the manufacturer has attached a badge reading ‘1.0’ to the boot lid, a K-1.0″ badge on the cover of the engine and another one inscribed with “Kappa” on the front driver-side fender.

With an imposing dashboard design, good plastic quality, and an overall premium finish, the interiors of the car are certainly impressive. The black and beige combo, beautifully festooned with silver motifs, adds to the overall look.

Engine & Performance:

The all-aluminum head and block of the 1.0-litre Kappa engine make it relatively lighter than the prevalent model. This also results in lower NVH (Noise, Vibration, & Harshness) levels. Low friction timing chain & piston cooling jets guarantee better performance and higher fuel-efficiency.

Equipped with VTVT technology, the three-cylinder engine displaces 998cc and musters 69 Bhp power & 94.14Nm of peak torque at 3500 rpm. The engine comes with an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 20.3kmpl.

Mated with a five-speed manual transmission, the car promises smooth gearshifts.

Price:

The Hyundai 1.0 Kappa Eon Magna+ Price starts at Rs. 3.83 Lakhs.

Pros & Cons:

The Hyundai Eon had already created a good fan following. With a decent design, alluring features, and most importantly a very reasonable price tag, the car had only one drawback – the 0.8L engine.
