7 Mysterious Places You Won’t Believe Exists On Earth

Our earth is full of surprising and uncanny elements.

Sometimes nature showcases her mysterious sides sometimes man made things leads to some strange phenomena which we have no words for.

Today we have compiled a list of such places and their arresting images actually left us speechless :

  1. Blood Falls

Not many people have seen these blood red water falls in the icey land of Antarctica in person but some photographs were captured by Thomas Taylor.

Glaciologists and microbiologists researched and came to conclusion of  what causes the unusual red water. Their research showed that one of the source of this water falls is a subterranean lake and this lake is rich in the iron that gives the water its red color.

  1. Ghost Island- Uninhabitable isolated land

Hashima island in Japan is one of the unique places on earth. This place is known as Ghost Island as this place was once populated as there were coal mines undersea.

However, after few years, Japanese switched their mining from coal to petroleum so they closed down the work at this island and since then the place is isolated  and nature has taken control over the place. The island is also known as Battle ship Island because of its shape.

  1. Skeleton Lake- Spine Chilling sight

In the secluded land of Chamoli, Uttarakhand lies one of the unusual lake in the world. Why? This lake is famous for 600 odd human skeletons that were discovered from this place. There are many folklores associated with this place.

  1. Midnight sun, Spitsbergen, Norway

This place is one of the bizarre places on earth as from April 20 to August 23, the sun never sets over Svalbard, a Norwegian archipelago.

Yes, you read it right, this place lies in north of Greenland in the Arctic Sea. The phenomenon creates huge confusion and thus disrupts everyone’s body clocks. Is it afternoon or midnight? It’s hard to tell.

  1. Twin Town

A place called Kodinhi in the Malappuram district of Kerala, has defied all the logic. Why?  In a population of 2000, this hamlet has 350 pairs of twins.  And this place is now known rightfully as Twin Town. 42 pairs of twins in every 1000 births is considered to be very baffling rate. This means, almost every family in Kodinhi has more than one pair of twins. Now that’s weird.

  1. Island of Dolls

La Isla De Las Munecas, or Island of Dolls, is one of the creepiest places on earth. The island is known for its forest where thousands of mutilated dolls hand from the branches of trees.

As per reports, these dolls were put up by one Mexican man (who died in those woods mysteriously) to appease the troubled ghost of a girl who died in nearby canal. He said that he still hears haunting screams from the woods in darkness.

Many adventurers do visit this haunted island.

  1. Christ of Abyss

This statue is considered as most famous undersea statue. This is a submerged bronze statue of Lord Jesus Christ. Christ of the Abyss is located in the deep waters of the Mediterranean Sea, at a depth of approximately 17 meters.
